Numbers 14

H5712And all the congregationH5375lifted up[H8799] H6963their voiceH5414, and cried[H8799] H5971; and the peopleH1058wept[H8799] H3915that night.

H1121And all the childrenH3478of IsraelH3885murmured[H8735] H4872against MosesH175and against AaronH5712: and the whole congregationH559said[H8799] H3863unto them, Would GodH4191that we had died[H8804] H776in the landH4714of EgyptH3863! or would GodH4191we had died[H8804] H4057in this wilderness!

H3068And wherefore hath the LORDH935brought[H8688] H776us unto this landH5307, to fall[H8800] H2719by the swordH802, that our wivesH2945and our childrenH957should be a preyH2896? were it not betterH7725for us to return[H8800] H4714into Egypt?

H559And they said[H8799] H376oneH251to anotherH5414, Let us make[H8799] H7218a captainH7725, and let us return[H8799] H4714into Egypt.

H4872Then MosesH175and AaronH5307fell[H8799] H6440on their facesH6440beforeH6951all the assemblyH5712of the congregationH1121of the childrenH3478of Israel.

H3091And JoshuaH1121the sonH5126of NunH3612, and CalebH1121the sonH3312of JephunnehH8446, which were of them that searched[H8802] H776the landH7167, rent[H8804] H899their clothes:

H559And they spake[H8799] H5712unto all the companyH1121of the childrenH3478of IsraelH559, saying[H8800] H776, The landH5674, which we passed[H8804] H8446through to search[H8800] H3966it, is an exceedingH3966 H2896goodH776land.

H3068If the LORDH2654delight[H8804] H935in us, then he will bring[H8689] H776us into this landH5414, and give[H8804] H776it us; a landH2100which floweth[H8802] H2461with milkH1706and honey.

H4775Only rebel[H8799] H3068not ye against the LORDH3372, neither fear[H8799] H5971ye the peopleH776of the landH3899; for they are breadH6738for us: their defenceH5493is departed[H8804] H3068from them, and the LORDH3372is with us: fear[H8799]  them not.

H5712But all the congregationH559bade[H8799] H7275stone[H8800] H68them with stonesH3519. And the gloryH3068of the LORDH7200appeared[H8738] H168in the tabernacleH4150of the congregationH1121before all the childrenH3478of Israel.

H3068And the LORDH559said[H8799] H4872unto MosesH5971, How long will this peopleH5006provoke[H8762] H3808me? and how long will it be ereH539they believe[H8686] H226me, for all the signsH6213which I have shewed[H8804] H7130among them?

H5221I will smite[H8686] H1698them with the pestilenceH3423, and disinherit[H8686] H6213them, and will make[H8799] H1419of thee a greaterH1471nationH6099and mightier than they.

H4872And MosesH559said[H8799] H3068unto the LORDH4714, Then the EgyptiansH8085shall hear[H8804] H5927it, (for thou broughtest up[H8689] H5971this peopleH3581in thy mightH7130from among them;)

H559And they will tell[H8804] H3427it to the inhabitants[H8802] H776of this landH8085: for they have heard[H8804] H3068that thou LORDH7130art amongH5971this peopleH3068, that thou LORDH7200art seen[H8738] H5869faceH5869to faceH6051, and that thy cloudH5975standeth[H8802] H1980over them, and that thou goest[H8802] H6440beforeH3119them, by day timeH5982in a pillarH6051of a cloudH5982, and in a pillarH784of fireH3915by night.

H4191Now if thou shalt kill[H8689] H5971all this peopleH259as oneH376manH1471, then the nationsH8085which have heard[H8804] H8088the fameH559of thee will speak[H8804] H559, saying[H8800] ,

H3068Because the LORDH1115was notH3201able[H8800] H935to bring[H8687] H5971this peopleH776into the landH7650which he sware[H8738] H7819unto them, therefore he hath slain[H8799] H4057them in the wilderness.

H3581And now, I beseech thee, let the powerH136of my LordH1431be great[H8799] H834, accordingH1696as thou hast spoken[H8765] H559, saying[H8800] ,

H3068The LORDH750is longsufferingH639 H7227, and of greatH2617mercyH5375, forgiving[H8802] H5771iniquityH6588and transgressionH5352, and by no means[H8763] H5352clearing[H8762] H6485the guilty, visiting[H8802] H5771the iniquityH1of the fathersH1121upon the childrenH8029unto the thirdH7256and fourth generation .

H5545Pardon[H8798] H5771, I beseech thee, the iniquityH5971of this peopleH1433according unto the greatnessH2617of thy mercyH5375, and as thou hast forgiven[H8804] H5971this peopleH4714, from EgyptH2008even until now.

H3068And the LORDH559said[H8799] H5545, I have pardoned[H8804] H1697according to thy word:

H199But as trulyH2416as I liveH776, all the earthH4390shall be filled[H8735] H3519with the gloryH3068of the LORD.

H582Because all those menH7200which have seen[H8802] H3519my gloryH226, and my miraclesH6213, which I did[H8804] H4714in EgyptH4057and in the wildernessH5254, and have tempted[H8762] H853 H6235me now these tenH6471timesH8085, and have not hearkened[H8804] H6963to my voice;

H518Surely they shall notH7200see[H8799] H776the landH7650which I sware[H8738] H1unto their fathersH5006, neither shall any of them that provoked[H8764] H7200me see[H8799]  it:

H5650But my servantH3612CalebH6118, becauseH312he had anotherH7307spiritH310with him, and hath followedH4390me fully[H8762] H935, him will I bring[H8689] H776into the landH935whereinto he went[H8804] H2233; and his seedH3423shall possess[H8686]  it.

H6003(Now the AmalekitesH3669and the CanaanitesH3427dwelt[H8802] H6010in the valleyH4279.) To morrowH6437turn[H8798] H5265you, and get[H8798] H4057you into the wildernessH1870by the wayH5488of the RedH3220sea.

H3068And the LORDH1696spake[H8762] H4872unto MosesH175and unto AaronH559, saying[H8800] ,

H7451How long shall I bear with this evilH5712congregationH3885, which murmur[H8688] H8085against me? I have heard[H8804] H8519the murmuringsH1121of the childrenH3478of IsraelH3885, which they murmur[H8688]  against me.

H559Say[H8798] H3808unto them, As truly asH2416I liveH5002, saith[H8803] H3068the LORDH1696, as ye have spoken[H8765] H241in mine earsH6213, so will I do[H8799]  to you:

H6297Your carcasesH5307shall fall[H8799] H4057in this wildernessH6485; and all that were numbered[H8803] H4557of you, according to your whole numberH6242, from twentyH8141yearsH1121oldH4605and upwardH3885, which have murmured[H8689]  against me,

H518Doubtless ye shall notH935come[H8799] H776into the landH3027, concerning which I swareH5375 [H8804] H7931to make you dwell[H8763] H3612therein, save CalebH1121the sonH3312of JephunnehH3091, and JoshuaH1121the sonH5126of Nun.

H2945But your little onesH559, which ye said[H8804] H957should be a preyH935, them will I bring in[H8689] H3045, and they shall know[H8804] H776the landH3988which ye have despised[H8804] .

H6297But as for you, your carcasesH5307, they shall fall[H8799] H4057in this wilderness.

H1121And your childrenH7462shall wander[H8802] H4057in the wildernessH705fortyH8141yearsH5375, and bear[H8804] H2184your whoredomsH6297, until your carcasesH8552be wasted[H8800] H4057in the wilderness.

H4557After the numberH3117of the daysH8446in which ye searched[H8804] H776the landH705, even fortyH3117daysH3117, each dayH8141for a yearH3117 H8141 H5375, shall ye bear[H8799] H5771your iniquitiesH705, even fortyH8141yearsH3045, and ye shall know[H8804] H8569my breach of promise.

H3068I the LORDH1696have said[H8765] H518, I will surelyH3808 H6213do[H8799] H2063itH7451unto all this evilH5712congregationH3259, that are gathered together[H8737] H4057against me: in this wildernessH8552they shall be consumed[H8735] H4191, and there they shall die[H8799] .

H582And the menH4872, which MosesH7971sent[H8804] H8446to search[H8800] H776the landH7725, who returned[H8799] H5712, and made all the congregationH3885to murmur[H8686] [H8675] H3885 [H8735] H3318against him, by bringing up[H8687] H1681a slanderH776upon the land,

H582Even thoseH582menH3318that did bring up[H8688] H7451the evilH1681reportH776upon the landH4191, died[H8799] H4046by the plagueH6440beforeH3068the LORD.

H3091But JoshuaH1121the sonH5126of NunH3612, and CalebH1121the sonH3312of JephunnehH1992, which were of the menH582 H1980that went[H8802] H8446to search[H8800] H776the landH2421, lived[H8804]  still .

H4872And MosesH1696told[H8762] H1697these sayingsH1121unto all the childrenH3478of IsraelH5971: and the peopleH56mourned[H8691] H3966greatly.

H7925And they rose up early[H8686] H1242in the morningH5927, and gat them up[H8799] H7218into the topH2022of the mountainH559, saying[H8800] H2009, LoH5927, we be here, and will go up[H8804] H4725unto the placeH3068which the LORDH559hath promised[H8804] H2398: for we have sinned[H8804] .

H4872And MosesH559said[H8799] H5674, Wherefore now do ye transgress[H8802] H6310the commandmentH3068of the LORDH6743? but it shall not prosper[H8799] .

H5927Go not up[H8799] H3068, for the LORDH7130is not amongH5062you; that ye be not smitten[H8735] H6440beforeH341your enemies[H8802] .

H6003For the AmalekitesH3669and the CanaanitesH6440are there beforeH5307you, and ye shall fall[H8804] H2719by the swordH7725: because ye are turned[H8804] H310awayH3068from the LORDH3068, therefore the LORD will not be with you.

H6075But they presumed[H8686] H5927to go up[H8800] H2022unto the hillH7218topH727: nevertheless the arkH1285of the covenantH3068of the LORDH4872, and MosesH4185, departed[H8804] H7130not outH4264of the camp.

H6003Then the AmalekitesH3381came down[H8799] H3669, and the CanaanitesH3427which dwelt[H8802] H2022in that hillH5221, and smote[H8686] H3807them, and discomfited[H8686] H2767them, even unto Hormah.
