² H559And it was told[H8735] H4428the kingH3405of JerichoH559, saying[H8800] H935, Behold, there came[H8804] H582menH3915in hither to nightH1121of the childrenH3478of IsraelH2658to search out[H8800] H776the country.

³ H4428And the kingH3405of JerichoH7971sent[H8799] H7343unto RahabH559, saying[H8800] H3318, Bring forth[H8685] H582the menH935that are come[H8802] H935to thee, which are entered[H8804] H1004into thine houseH935: for they be come[H8804] H2658to search out[H8800] H776all the country.

⁴ H802And the womanH3947took[H8799] H8147the twoH582menH6845, and hid[H8799] H559them, and said[H8799] H935thus, There came[H8804] H582menH3045unto me, but I wist[H8804] H370not whence they were :

⁵ H5462And it came to pass about the time of shutting[H8800] H8179of the gateH2822, when it was darkH582, that the menH3318went out[H8804] H582: whither the menH1980went[H8804] H3045I wot[H8804] H7291not: pursue[H8798] H310afterH4118them quicklyH5381; for ye shall overtake[H8686]  them.

⁶ H5927But she had brought them up[H8689] H1406to the roofH2934of the house, and hid[H8799] H6086them with the stalksH6593of flaxH6186, which she had laid in order[H8803] H1406upon the roof.

¹² H7650Now therefore, I pray you, swear[H8734] H3068unto me by the LORDH3588, sinceH6213I have shewed[H8804] H2617you kindnessH6213, that ye will also shew[H8804] H2617kindnessH1unto my father'sH1004houseH5414, and give[H8804] H571me a trueH226token:

¹³ H2421And that ye will save alive[H8689] H1my fatherH517, and my motherH251, and my brethrenH269, and my sistersH5337, and all that they have, and deliver[H8689] H5315our livesH4194from death.

¹⁴ H582And the menH559answered[H8799] H5315her, Our lifeH4191for yours[H8800] H5046, if ye utter[H8686] H1697not this our businessH3068. And it shall be, when the LORDH5414hath given[H8800] H776us the landH6213, that we will deal[H8804] H2617kindlyH571and truly with thee.

¹⁵ H3381Then she let them down[H8686] H2256by a cordH1157throughH2474the windowH1004: for her houseH7023was upon the townH2346wallH3427, and she dwelt[H8802] H2346upon the wall.

¹⁶ H559And she said[H8799] H3212unto them, Get[H8798] H2022you to the mountainH7291, lest the pursuers[H8802] H6293meet[H8799] H2247you; and hide[H8738] H7969yourselves there threeH3117daysH7291, until the pursuers[H8802] H7725be returned[H8800] H310: and afterwardH3212may ye go[H8799] H1870your way.

¹⁷ H582And the menH559said[H8799] H5355unto her, We will be blamelessH7621of this thine oathH7650which thou hast made us swear[H8689] .

¹⁸ H935Behold, when we come[H8802] H776into the landH7194, thou shalt bind[H8799] H8615this lineH8144of scarletH2339threadH2474in the windowH3381which thou didst let us down by[H8689] H622: and thou shalt bring[H8799] H1thy fatherH517, and thy motherH251, and thy brethrenH1, and all thy father'sH1004householdH1004, home unto thee.

¹⁹ H834And it shall be, that whosoeverH3318shall go out[H8799] H1817of the doorsH1004of thy houseH2351into the streetH1818, his bloodH7218shall be upon his headH5355, and we will be guiltlessH1004: and whosoever shall be with thee in the houseH1818, his bloodH7218shall be on our headH3027, if any hand be upon him.

²² H3212And they went[H8799] H935, and came[H8799] H2022unto the mountainH3427, and abode[H8799] H7969there threeH3117daysH7291, until the pursuers[H8802] H7725were returned[H8804] H7291: and the pursuers[H8802] H1245sought[H8762] H1870them throughout all the wayH4672, but found[H8804]  them not.

²³ H8147So the twoH582menH7725returned[H8799] H3381, and descended[H8799] H2022from the mountainH5674, and passed over[H8799] H935, and came[H8799] H3091to JoshuaH1121the sonH5126of NunH5608, and told[H8762] H4672him all things that befell[H8802]  them:
