² H4325And there was no waterH5712for the congregationH6950: and they gathered[H8735] H4872themselves together against MosesH175and against Aaron.

³ H5971And the peopleH7378chode[H8799] H4872with MosesH559, and spake[H8799] H559, saying[H8800] H3863, Would God thatH1478we had died[H8804] H251when our brethrenH1478died[H8800] H6440beforeH3068the LORD!

⁴ H935And why have ye brought up[H8689] H6951the congregationH3068of the LORDH4057into this wildernessH1165, that we and our cattleH4191should die[H8800]  there?

⁵ H5927And wherefore have ye made us to come up[H8689] H4714out of EgyptH935, to bring[H8687] H7451us in unto this evilH4725placeH4725? it is no placeH2233of seedH8384, or of figsH1612, or of vinesH7416, or of pomegranatesH4325; neither is there any waterH8354to drink[H8800] .

⁶ H4872And MosesH175and AaronH935went[H8799] H6440from the presenceH6951of the assemblyH6607unto the doorH168of the tabernacleH4150of the congregationH5307, and they fell[H8799] H6440upon their facesH3519: and the gloryH3068of the LORDH7200appeared[H8735]  unto them.

⁷ H3068And the LORDH1696spake[H8762] H4872unto MosesH559, saying[H8800] ,

⁸ H3947Take[H8798] H4294the rodH6950, and gather[H8685] H5712thou the assemblyH175together, thou, and AaronH251thy brotherH1696, and speak[H8765] H5553ye unto the rockH5869before their eyesH5414; and it shall give forth[H8804] H4325his waterH3318, and thou shalt bring forth[H8689] H4325to them waterH5553out of the rockH8248: so thou shalt giveH5712the congregationH1165and their beastsH8248drink[H8689] .

⁹ H4872And MosesH3947took[H8799] H4294the rodH6440from beforeH3068the LORDH6680, as he commanded[H8765]  him.

¹⁰ H4872And MosesH175and AaronH6950gathered[H8686] H6951the congregationH6440together beforeH5553the rockH559, and he said[H8799] H8085unto them, Hear[H8798] H4784now, ye rebels[H8802] H3318; must we fetch[H8686] H4325you waterH5553out of this rock?

¹¹ H4872And MosesH7311lifted up[H8686] H3027his handH4294, and with his rodH5221he smote[H8686] H5553the rockH6471twiceH4325: and the waterH3318came out[H8799] H7227abundantlyH5712, and the congregationH8354drank[H8799] H1165, and their beasts also .

¹² H3068And the LORDH559spake[H8799] H4872unto MosesH175and AaronH539, Because ye believed[H8689] H6942me not, to sanctify[H8687] H5869me in the eyesH1121of the childrenH3478of IsraelH935, therefore ye shall not bring[H8686] H6951this congregationH776into the landH5414which I have given[H8804]  them.

¹³ H1992This isH4325the waterH4809of MeribahH1121; because the childrenH3478of IsraelH7378strove[H8804] H3068with the LORDH6942, and he was sanctified[H8735]  in them.

¹⁴ H4872And MosesH7971sent[H8799] H4397messengersH6946from KadeshH4428unto the kingH123of EdomH559, Thus saith[H8804] H251thy brotherH3478IsraelH3045, Thou knowest[H8804] H8513all the travailH4672that hath befallen[H8804]  us:

¹⁵ H1How our fathersH3381went down[H8799] H4714into EgyptH3427, and we have dwelt[H8799] H4714in EgyptH7227a longH3117timeH4714; and the EgyptiansH7489vexed[H8686] H1us, and our fathers:

¹⁷ H5674Let us pass[H8799] H776, I pray thee, through thy countryH5674: we will not pass[H8799] H7704through the fieldsH3754, or through the vineyardsH8354, neither will we drink[H8799] H4325of the waterH875of the wellsH3212: we will go[H8799] H4428by the king'sH1870high wayH5186, we will not turn[H8799] H3225to the right handH8040nor to the leftH5674, until we have passed[H8799] H1366thy borders.

¹⁸ H123And EdomH559said[H8799] H5674unto him, Thou shalt not pass[H8799] H3318by me, lest I come out[H8799] H7125against[H8800] H2719thee with the sword.

¹⁹ H1121And the childrenH3478of IsraelH559said[H8799] H5927unto him, We will go[H8799] H4546by the high wayH4735: and if I and my cattleH8354drink[H8799] H4325of thy waterH5414, then I will pay[H8804] H4377 H1697for it: I will only, without doing any thingH5674else, go through[H8799] H7272on my feet.

²⁰ H559And he said[H8799] H5674, Thou shalt not go through[H8799] H123. And EdomH3318came out[H8799] H7125against[H8800] H3515him with muchH5971peopleH2389, and with a strongH3027hand.

²¹ H123Thus EdomH3985refused[H8762] H5414to give[H8800] H3478IsraelH5674passage[H8800] H1366through his borderH3478: wherefore IsraelH5186turned away[H8799]  from him.

²² H1121And the childrenH3478of IsraelH5712, even the whole congregationH5265, journeyed[H8799] H6946from KadeshH935, and came[H8799] H2022unto mountH2023Hor.

²³ H3068And the LORDH559spake[H8799] H4872unto MosesH175and AaronH2022in mountH2023HorH1366, by the coastH776of the landH123of EdomH559, saying[H8800] ,

²⁴ H175AaronH622shall be gathered[H8735] H5971unto his peopleH935: for he shall not enter[H8799] H776into the landH5414which I have given[H8804] H1121unto the childrenH3478of IsraelH4784, because ye rebelled against[H8804] H6310my wordH4325at the waterH4809of Meribah.

²⁵ H3947Take[H8798] H175AaronH499and EleazarH1121his sonH5927, and bring them up[H8685] H2022unto mountH2023Hor:

²⁶ H6584And strip[H8685] H175AaronH899of his garmentsH3847, and put[H8689] H499them upon EleazarH1121his sonH175: and AaronH622shall be gathered[H8735] H4191unto his people, and shall die[H8804]  there.

²⁷ H4872And MosesH6213did[H8799] H3068as the LORDH6680commanded[H8765] H5927: and they went up[H8799] H2022into mountH2023HorH5869in the sightH5712of all the congregation.

²⁸ H4872And MosesH6584stripped[H8686] H175AaronH899of his garmentsH3847, and put[H8686] H499them upon EleazarH1121his sonH175; and AaronH4191died[H8799] H7218there in the topH2022of the mountH4872: and MosesH499and EleazarH3381came down[H8799] H2022from the mount.

²⁹ H5712And when all the congregationH7200saw[H8799] H175that AaronH1478was dead[H8804] H1058, they mourned[H8799] H175for AaronH7970thirtyH3117daysH1004, even all the houseH3478of Israel.
