Lord, when you are with the king,\par he is like a hot oven \{that burns up everything in it\}.\par His anger burns like a hot fire,\par and he destroys his enemies.\par
So we are not afraid when the\par earth quakes,\par and the mountains fall into the sea.\par

God, you have such great love for me.\par You save me from the place of death.\par
The people living in this land are guilty of doing wrong. So God promised to destroy the land. The people will be punished. Only a few people will survive.

They really had a good time when they showed how much they hated this land. They took the land for themselves just so they could destroy it!”
In my anger and strong emotions I make this promise: I promise that there will be a strong earthquake in the land of Israel.
You will work hard, but it will not help. Your land will not give any crops, and your trees will not grow their fruit.
Go to the Lord, and live.\par If you don’t go to the Lord,\par then a fire will start at Joseph’s house. {\cf2\super [65]} \par That fire will destroy Joseph’s house,\par and no person will be able to stop\par that fire at Bethel.\par
The Lord my Master showed these things to me: \{I\} saw the Lord God calling for judgment by fire. The fire destroyed the Great Deep. The fire was beginning to eat up the land.

The Lord said, “So just wait! Wait for me to stand and judge you. I have the right to bring people from many nations and use them to punish you. I will use those people to show my anger against you. I will use them to show how upset I am—and the whole country will be destroyed!
Those people went down into their grave alive. Everything they owned went with them. Then the earth closed over them. They were finished—gone from the camp!
Then a fire came from the Lord and destroyed the 250 men who were offering the incense. [209]
Don’t be afraid of people. They can only kill the body. They cannot kill the soul. The only one you should fear is the One (God) that can destroy the body and the soul. He can send the body and the soul to hell.
If your eye makes you sin, take it out and throw it away. It is better for you to have only one eye but have life forever. That is much better than to have two eyes but be thrown into the fire of hell.
“You are snakes! You are from a family of poisonous snakes! You will not escape God. You will all be judged guilty and go to hell!
He will come from heaven with burning fire to punish those people who don’t know God. He will punish those people who refuse to accept the Good News {\cf2\super [1]} about our Lord Jesus Christ.
