¹ The Lord is my Rock, {\cf2\super [646]} \par Bless the Lord.\par The Lord trains me for war.\par The Lord trains me for battle.\par

² The Lord loves me and protects me.\par The Lord is my safe place high on the mountain.\par The Lord rescues me.\par The Lord is my shield.\par I trust him.\par The Lord helps me rule my people.\par

³ Lord, why are people important to you?\par Why do you even notice us?\par

⁴ A person’s life is like a puff of air.\par A person’s life is like a passing shadow.\par

⁵ Lord, tear open the skies and come down.\par Touch the mountains and smoke will rise from them.\par

⁶ Lord, send the lightning\par and make my enemies run away.\par Shoot your “arrows”\par and make them run away.\par

⁷ Lord, reach down from heaven\par and save me!\par Don’t let me drown in this sea of enemies.\par Save me from these foreigners.\par

⁸ These enemies are liars.\par They say things that are not true.\par

⁹ Lord, I will sing a new song\par about the wonderful things you do.\par I will praise you\par and play the harp with ten strings.\par

¹⁰ The Lord helps kings win their wars.\par The Lord saved his servant David\par from his enemy’s swords.\par

¹¹ Save me from these foreigners.\par These enemies are liars.\par They say things that are not true.\par

¹² Our young sons are like strong trees.\par Our daughters are like the beautiful decorations in the palace.\par

¹³ Our barns are filled\par with all kinds of crops.\par There are thousands and thousands of sheep\par in our fields.\par

¹⁴ Our soldiers are safe.\par No enemy is trying to break in.\par We are not going to war.\par People are not screaming in our streets.\par

¹⁵ At times like this,\par people are very happy.\par People are very happy\par if the Lord is their God.\par
