Habakkuk 3 - Easy To Read Version1 The Shiggayon prayer of Habakkuk the prophet. {\cf2\super [11]} 2 Lord, I have heard the news about you.\par Lord, I am amazed at the powerful things\par that you did in the past.\par Now I pray that you will do great things\par in our time.\par Please make those things happen\par in our own days.\par But in your excitement, remember to show mercy to us.\par SELAH {\cf2\super [12]} \par 3 God is coming from Teman. {\cf2\super [13]} \par The Holy One is coming from Mount Paran. {\cf2\super [14]} \par SELAH {\cf2\super [15]} \par The glory of the Lord covers the heavens!\par His praise fills the earth!\par 4 Rays of light shine from his hand,\par a bright, shining light.\par There is such power hiding \{in that hand\}.\par 5 The sickness went before him.\par And the destroyer followed behind him. {\cf2\super [16]} \par 6 The Lord stood and judged the earth.\par He looked at the people of all the nations.\par And they shook with fear.\par For many years the mountains stood strong.\par But those mountains fell to pieces.\par The old, old hills fell down.\par God has always been like that!\par 7 I saw the cities of Cushan were in trouble.\par The houses of Midian trembled with fear.\par 8 Lord, were you angry at the rivers?\par Were you angry at the streams?\par Were you angry at the sea?\par Were you angry when you rode\par your horses and chariots to victory?\par 9 Even then you showed your rainbow.\par It was proof of your Agreement\par with the families of the earth.\par SELAH {\cf2\super [17]} \par And the dry land split the rivers.\par 10 The mountains saw you and shook.\par The water flowed off the land.\par The water from the sea made a loud noise\par as it lost its power over the land.\par 11 The sun and the moon lost their brightness.\par They stopped shining when they saw\par your bright flashes of lightning.\par That lightning was like spears and arrows\par shooting through the air.\par 12 In anger you walked on the earth\par and punished the nations.\par 13 You came to save your people.\par You came to lead your chosen king {\cf2\super [18]} \par to victory.\par You killed the leader in every evil family,\par from the least important person\par to the most important in the land. {\cf2\super [19]} \par SELAH {\cf2\super [20]} \par 14 You used Moses’ walking stick\par to stop the enemy soldiers.\par Those soldiers came like a powerful storm\par to fight against us.\par They thought they could defeat us easily,\par like robbing a poor man in secret.\par 15 But you marched your horses\par through the deep water,\par stirring up the mud.\par 16 My whole body shook\par when I heard the story.\par I whistled out loud!\par I felt weak deep down in my bones.\par I just stood there shaking.\par So I will wait patiently\par for the day of destruction when they come to attack the people.\par 17 Figs might not grow on the fig trees.\par Grapes might not grow on the vines.\par Olives might not grow on the olive trees.\par Food might not grow in the fields.\par There might not be any sheep in the pens.\par There might not be any cattle in the barns.\par 18 But I will still be glad in the Lord.\par I will rejoice in God my savior.\par 19 The Lord, my Master,\par gives me my strength.\par He helps me run fast like a deer.\par He leads me safely on the mountains.\par |
