Psalm 21 - Easy To Read Version

¹ Lord, your strength makes the king happy.\par He is so happy when you save him.\par

² You gave the king the things he wanted.\par Lord, the king asked for some things,\par and you gave him what he asked for.\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [120]})\i0 \par

³ Lord, you really blessed the king.\par You put the gold crown on his head.\par

⁴ God, the king asked you for life.\par And you gave it to him!\par You gave him a long life that continues forever and ever.\par

⁵ You led the king to victory\par and gave him great glory.\par You gave him honor and praise.\par

⁶ God, you really blessed the king forever.\par When the king sees your face,\par it makes him very happy.\par

⁷ The king trusts the Lord.\par God Most-High will not disappoint him.\par

⁸ God, you will show all your enemies that you are strong.\par Your power will defeat the people who hate you.\par

⁹ Lord, when you are with the king,\par he is like a hot oven \{that burns up everything in it\}.\par His anger burns like a hot fire,\par and he destroys his enemies.\par

¹⁰ The families of his enemies will be destroyed.\par They will be gone from the earth.\par

¹¹ Why? Because those people planned\par bad things against you, Lord.\par They planned to do bad things,\par but they didn’t succeed.\par

¹² Lord, you made those people your slaves.\par You tied them together with ropes.\par You put ropes around their necks.\par You made them bow down like slaves.\par

¹³ Lord, let the songs of your power\par exalt you!\par We will sing and play songs\par about your greatness!\par
