God is not a man; he will not lie. God is not a human being; his decisions will not change. If the Lord says he will do something, then he will do it. If the Lord makes a promise, then he will do the thing he promised.

Stay in that land, and I will be with you. I will bless you. I will give you and your family all these lands. I will do what I promised to Abraham your father.


“I am with you, and I will protect you every place you go. And I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I promised.”


Any person from your family that dies in the city will be eaten by dogs. And any person from your family that dies in the fields will be eaten by birds. The Lord has spoken.’”


In this way the Lord’s word came true. The Lord had told Jehu that four generations of his descendants [175] would be kings of Israel.


Then the officer that was close to the king [76] answered the man of God [77] (Elisha). The officer said, “Even if the Lord made windows in heaven, this could not happen!”


Besides all those things, you let me know what will happen to my family in the future. You have treated me like a very important man.

All those things happened to King Nebuchadnezzar.


I will not let my terrible anger win.\par I will not destroy Ephraim again.\par I am God, and not man.\par I am the Holy One, I am with you.\par I will not show my anger.\par


\{God,\} please be true to Jacob, {\cf2\super [82]} \par Be kind and loyal to Abraham, {\cf2\super [83]} \par like you promised our ancestors {\cf2\super [84]} \par a long time ago.\par


This message is about a special time in the future. This message is about the end, and it will come true! \{It may seem like that time will never come.\} But be patient and wait for it. That time will come. It will not be late.


“I am the Lord, and I don’t change. You are Jacob’s children, and you have not been completely destroyed.


“I am the Lord, and I have spoken. And I promise that I will do these things to all of these evil people. These people have come together against me. So they will all die here in this desert.”


The whole world, earth and sky, will be destroyed; but the words I have said will never be destroyed!


God never changes his mind about the people he calls and the things he gives them. And God never takes back his call to the people.


\{Yes, I feel sorry for the Jewish people.\} I don’t mean that God failed to keep his promise to them. But only some of the people of Israel (the Jews) are truly God’s people. {\cf2\super [77]}


If we are not faithful,\par he will still be faithful,\par because he cannot be false to himself.\par


That faith and that knowledge come from our hope for life forever. God promised that life to us before time began—and God does not lie.


Those two things cannot change. God cannot lie when he says something and he cannot lie when he makes a vow. So those things give great comfort to us who came to God for safety. Those two things give us comfort and strength to continue in the hope that God gives us.


But Christ became a priest with God’s vow. God said to him:


Everything good comes from God. And every perfect gift is from God. These good gifts come down from the Father who made all the lights in the sky (sun, moon, stars). But God never changes \{like those lights\}. He is always the same.


Do you think the Scriptures {\cf2\super [19]} mean nothing? The Scriptures say, “The Spirit {\cf2\super [20]} that \{God\} made to live in us wants us only for himself.” {\cf2\super [21]}


The Lord kept every promise that he made to the people of Israel. There were no promises that he failed to keep. Every promise came true.


The Lord is the God of Israel. The Lord lives forever. The Lord does not lie or change his mind. The Lord is not like a man who changes his mind.”


I will do everything I said I would do against Eli and his family. I will do everything from the beginning to the end.
