Psalm 77 - Easy To Read Version

¹ I lift my voice to God and cry \{for help\}.\par I lift my voice to you God, listen to me!\par

² My Master, I come to you\par when I have trouble.\par I reached out for you all night long.\par My soul refused to be comforted.\par

³ I think about God,\par and I try to tell him how I feel.\par But I can’t.\par

⁴ You would not let me sleep.\par I tried to say something,\par but I was too upset.\par

⁵ I kept thinking about the past.\par I kept thinking about things\par that happened long ago.\par

⁶ At night, I try to think about my songs.\par I talk with myself and try to understand.\par

⁷ I wonder,\par “Has our Master left us forever?\par Will he ever want us again?\par

⁸ Is God’s love gone forever?\par Will he ever speak to us again?\par

⁹ Has God forgotten what mercy is?\par Has his compassion changed to anger?”\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [436]})\i0 \par

¹⁰ Then I thought,\par “The thing that really bothers me is this:\par ‘Has God Most-High lost his power?’”\par

¹¹ I remember what the Lord did.\par God, I remember the amazing things\par that you did long ago.\par

¹² I thought about what you have done.\par I thought about those things.\par

¹³ God, your ways are holy.\par God, no one is great like you are.\par

¹⁴ You are the God that did amazing things.\par You showed people your great power.\par

¹⁵ With your power you saved your people.\par You saved the descendants {\cf2\super [437]} of Jacob and Joseph.\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [438]})\i0 \par

¹⁶ God, the water saw you,\par and became afraid.\par The deep water shook with fear.\par

¹⁷ The thick clouds dropped their water.\par People heard loud thunder\par in the high clouds.\par Then your arrows of lightning\par flashed through the clouds.\par

¹⁸ There were loud claps of thunder.\par Lightning lit up the world.\par The earth shook and trembled.\par

¹⁹ God, you walked through the deep water,\par you crossed the deep sea,\par but you left no footprints.\par

²⁰ You used Moses and Aaron\par to lead your people like sheep.\par
