Jeremiah 51 - King James Bible with Strong Numbers

H559Thus saith[H8804] H3068the LORDH5782; Behold, I will raise up[H8688] H894against BabylonH3427, and against them that dwell[H8802] H3820in the midstH6965of them that rise up[H8801] H7843against me, a destroying[H8688] H7307wind;

H7971And will send[H8765] H894unto BabylonH2114fanners[H8801] H2219, that shall fan[H8765] H1238her, and shall empty[H8787] H776her landH3117: for in the dayH7451of troubleH5439they shall be against her round about.

H1869Against him that bendethH1869let the archer[H8802] H1869bend[H8799] H7198his bowH5927, and against him that lifteth himself up[H8691] H5630in his brigandineH2550: and spare[H8799] H970ye not her young menH2763; destroy ye utterly[H8685] H6635all her host.

H2491Thus the slainH5307shall fall[H8804] H776in the landH3778of the ChaldeansH1856, and they that are thrust through[H8794] H2351in her streets.

H3478For IsraelH488hath not been forsakenH3063, nor JudahH430of his GodH3068, of the LORDH6635of hostsH776; though their landH4390was filled[H8804] H817with sinH6918against the Holy OneH3478of Israel.

H5127Flee out[H8798] H8432of the midstH894of BabylonH4422, and deliver[H8761] H376every manH5315his soulH1826: be not cut off[H8735] H5771in her iniquityH6256; for this is the timeH3068of the LORD'SH5360vengeanceH7999; he will render[H8764] H1576unto her a recompence.

H894BabylonH2091hath been a goldenH3563cupH3068in the LORD'SH3027handH776, that made all the earthH7937drunken[H8764] H1471: the nationsH8354have drunken[H8804] H3196of her wineH1471; therefore the nationsH1984are mad[H8704] .

H894BabylonH6597is suddenlyH5307fallen[H8804] H7665and destroyed[H8735] H3213: howl[H8685] H3947for her; take[H8798] H6875balmH4341for her painH7495, if so be she may be healed[H8735] .

H7495We would have healed[H8765] H894BabylonH7495, but she is not healed[H8738] H5800: forsake[H8798] H3212her, and let us go[H8799] H376every oneH776into his own countryH4941: for her judgmentH5060reacheth[H8804] H8064unto heavenH5375, and is lifted up[H8738] H7834even to the skies.

H3068The LORDH3318hath brought forth[H8689] H6666our righteousnessH935: come[H8798] H5608, and let us declare[H8762] H6726in ZionH4639the workH3068of the LORDH430our God.

H1305Make bright[H8685] H2671the arrowsH4390; gather[H8798] H7982the shieldsH3068: the LORDH5782hath raised up[H8689] H7307the spiritH4428of the kingsH4074of the MedesH4209: for his deviceH894is against BabylonH7843, to destroy[H8687] H5360it; because it is the vengeanceH3068of the LORDH5360, the vengeanceH1964of his temple.

H5375Set up[H8798] H5251the standardH2346upon the wallsH894of BabylonH4929, make the watchH2388strong[H8685] H6965, set up[H8685] H8104the watchmen[H8802] H3559, prepare[H8685] H693the ambushes[H8802] H3068: for the LORDH2161hath both devised[H8804] H6213and done[H8804] H1696that which he spake[H8765] H3427against the inhabitants[H8802] H894of Babylon.

H7931O thou that dwellest[H8802] [H8675] H7931 [H8804] H7227upon manyH4325watersH7227, abundantH214in treasuresH7093, thine endH935is come[H8802] H520, and the measureH1215of thy covetousness.

H3068The LORDH6635of hostsH7650hath sworn[H8738] H5315by himselfH4390, saying, Surely I will fill[H8765] H120thee with menH3218, as with caterpillersH6030; and they shall lift up[H8804] H1959a shout against thee.

H6213He hath made[H8802] H776the earthH3581by his powerH3559, he hath established[H8688] H8398the worldH2451by his wisdomH5186, and hath stretched out[H8804] H8064the heavenH8394by his understanding.

H5414When he uttereth[H8800] H6963his voiceH1995, there is a multitudeH4325of watersH8064in the heavensH5387; and he causeth the vapoursH5927to ascend[H8686] H7097from the endsH776of the earthH6213: he maketh[H8804] H1300lightningsH4306with rainH3318, and bringeth forth[H8686] H7307the windH214out of his treasures.

H120Every manH1197is brutish[H8738] H1847by his knowledgeH6884; every founder[H8802] H3001is confounded[H8689] H6459by the graven imageH5262: for his molten imageH8267is falsehoodH7307, and there is no breath in them.

H1892They are vanityH4639, the workH8595of errorsH6256: in the timeH6486of their visitationH6they shall perish[H8799] .

H2506The portionH3290of JacobH3335is not like them; for he is the former[H8802] H7626of all things: and Israel is the rodH5159of his inheritanceH3068: the LORDH6635of hostsH8034is his name.

H4661Thou art my battle axeH3627and weaponsH4421of warH5310: for with thee will I break in pieces[H8765] H1471the nationsH7843, and with thee will I destroy[H8689] H4467kingdoms;

H5310And with thee will I break in pieces[H8765] H5483the horseH7392and his rider[H8802] H5310; and with thee will I break in pieces[H8765] H7393the chariotH7392and his rider[H8802] ;

H5310With thee also will I break in pieces[H8765] H376manH802and womanH5310; and with thee will I break in pieces[H8765] H2205oldH5288and youngH5310; and with thee will I break in pieces[H8765] H970the young manH1330and the maid;

H5310I will also break in pieces[H8765] H7462with thee the shepherd[H8802] H5739and his flockH5310; and with thee will I break in pieces[H8765] H406the husbandmanH6776and his yoke of oxenH5310; and with thee will I break in pieces[H8765] H6346captainsH5461and rulers.

H7999And I will render[H8765] H894unto BabylonH3427and to all the inhabitants[H8802] H3778of ChaldeaH7451all their evilH6213that they have done[H8804] H6726in ZionH5869in your sightH5002, saith[H8803] H3068the LORD.

H4889Behold, I am against thee, O destroyingH2022mountainH5002, saith[H8803] H3068the LORDH7843, which destroyest[H8688] H776all the earthH5186: and I will stretch out[H8804] H3027mine handH1556upon thee, and roll thee down[H8773] H5553from the rocksH5414, and will make[H8804] H8316thee a burntH2022mountain.

H3947And they shall not take[H8799] H68of thee a stoneH6438for a cornerH68, nor a stoneH4146for foundationsH8077; but thou shalt be desolateH5769for everH5002, saith[H8803] H3068the LORD.

H5375Set ye up[H8798] H5251a standardH776in the landH8628, blow[H8798] H7782the trumpetH1471among the nationsH6942, prepare[H8761] H1471the nationsH8085against her, call together[H8685] H4467against her the kingdomsH780of AraratH4508, MinniH813, and AshchenazH6485; appoint[H8798] H2951a captainH5483against her; cause the horsesH5927to come up[H8685] H5569as the roughH3218caterpillers.

H6942Prepare[H8761] H1471against her the nationsH4428with the kingsH4074of the MedesH6346, the captainsH5461thereof, and all the rulersH776thereof, and all the landH4475of his dominion.

H776And the landH7493shall tremble[H8799] H2342and sorrow[H8799] H4284: for every purposeH3068of the LORDH6965shall be performed[H8804] H894against BabylonH7760, to make[H8800] H776the landH894of BabylonH8047a desolationH3427without an inhabitant[H8802] .

H1368The mighty menH894of BabylonH2308have forborn[H8804] H3898to fight[H8736] H3427, they have remained[H8804] H4679in their holdsH1369: their mightH5405hath failed[H8804] H802; they became as womenH3341: they have burned[H8689] H4908her dwellingplacesH1280; her barsH7665are broken[H8738] .

H7323One post[H8801] H7323shall run[H8799] H7125to meet[H8800] H7323another[H8801] H5046, and one messenger[H8688] H7125to meet[H8800] H5046another[H8688] H5046, to shew[H8687] H4428the kingH894of BabylonH5892that his cityH3920is taken[H8738] H7097at one end,

H4569And that the passagesH8610are stopped[H8738] H98, and the reedsH8313they have burned[H8804] H784with fireH582, and the menH4421of warH926are affrighted[H8738] .

H559For thus saith[H8804] H3068the LORDH6635of hostsH430, the GodH3478of IsraelH1323; The daughterH894of BabylonH1637is like a threshingfloorH6256, it is timeH1869to thresh[H8687] H4592her: yet a little whileH6256, and the timeH7105of her harvestH935shall come[H8804] .

H5019NebuchadrezzarH4428the kingH894of BabylonH398hath devoured[H8804] H2000me, he hath crushed[H8804] H3322me, he hath made[H8689] H7385me an emptyH3627vesselH1104, he hath swallowed me up[H8804] H8577like a dragonH4390, he hath filled[H8765] H3770his bellyH5730with my delicatesH1740, he hath cast me out[H8689] .

H2555The violenceH7607done to me and to my fleshH894be upon BabylonH3427, shall the inhabitant[H8802] H6726of ZionH559say[H8799] H1818; and my bloodH3427upon the inhabitants[H8802] H3778of ChaldeaH3389, shall JerusalemH559say[H8799] .

H559Therefore thus saith[H8804] H3068the LORDH7378; Behold, I will plead[H8801] H7379thy causeH5358, and take vengeance[H8765] H5360for theeH2717; and I will dry up[H8689] H3220her seaH4726, and make her springsH3001dry[H8689] .

H894And BabylonH1530shall become heapsH4583, a dwellingplaceH8577for dragonsH8047, an astonishmentH8322, and an hissingH3427, without an inhabitant[H8802] .

H7580They shall roar[H8799] H3162togetherH3715like lionsH5286: they shall yell[H8804] H738as lionsH1484' whelps.

H2527In their heatH7896I will make[H8799] H4960their feastsH7937, and I will make them drunken[H8689] H5937, that they may rejoice[H8799] H3462, and sleep[H8804] H5769a perpetualH8142sleepH6974, and not wake[H8686] H5002, saith[H8803] H3068the LORD.

H3381I will bring them down[H8686] H3733like lambsH2873to the slaughter[H8800] H352, like ramsH6260with he goats.

H8347How is SheshachH3920taken[H8738] H8416! and how is the praiseH776of the whole earthH8610surprised[H8735] H894! how is BabylonH8047become an astonishmentH1471among the nations!

H3220The seaH5927is come up[H8804] H894upon BabylonH3680: she is covered[H8738] H1995with the multitudeH1530of the waves thereof.

H5892Her citiesH8047are a desolationH6723, a dryH776landH6160, and a wildernessH776, a landH376wherein no manH3427dwelleth[H8799] H1121, neither doth any sonH120of manH5674pass[H8799] H2004thereby.

H6485And I will punish[H8804] H1078BelH894in BabylonH3318, and I will bring forth[H8689] H6310out of his mouthH1105that which he hath swallowed upH1471: and the nationsH5102shall not flow together[H8799] H2346any more unto him: yea, the wallH894of BabylonH5307shall fall[H8804] .

H5971My peopleH3318, go ye out[H8798] H8432of the midstH4422of her, and deliver[H8761] H376ye every manH5315his soulH2740from the fierceH639angerH3068of the LORD.

H3824And lest your heartH7401faint[H8735] H3372, and ye fear[H8799] H8052for the rumourH8085that shall be heard[H8737] H776in the landH8052; a rumourH935shall both come[H8804] H8141one yearH310, and afterH8141that in another yearH8052shall come a rumourH2555, and violenceH776in the landH4910, ruler[H8802] H4910against ruler[H8802] .

H3117Therefore, behold, the daysH935come[H8802] H6485, that I will do judgment[H8804] H6456upon the graven imagesH894of BabylonH776: and her whole landH954shall be confounded[H8799] H2491, and all her slainH5307shall fall[H8799] H8432in the midst of her.

H8064Then the heavenH776and the earthH7442, and all that is therein, shall sing[H8765] H894for BabylonH7703: for the spoilers[H8802] H935shall come[H8799] H6828unto her from the northH5002, saith[H8803] H3068the LORD.

H1571AsH894BabylonH2491hath caused the slainH3478of IsraelH5307to fall[H8800] H894, so at BabylonH5307shall fall[H8804] H2491the slainH776of all the earth.

H6405Ye that have escapedH2719the swordH1980, go away[H8798] H5975, stand not still[H8799] H2142: remember[H8798] H3068the LORDH7350afar offH3389, and let JerusalemH5927come[H8799] H3824into your mind.

H954We are confounded[H8804] H8085, because we have heard[H8804] H2781reproachH3639: shameH3680hath covered[H8765] H6440our facesH2114: for strangers[H8801] H935are come[H8804] H4720into the sanctuariesH3068of the LORD'SH1004house.

H3117Wherefore, behold, the daysH935come[H8802] H5002, saith[H8803] H3068the LORDH6485, that I will do judgment[H8804] H6456upon her graven imagesH776: and through all her landH2491the woundedH602shall groan[H8799] .

H894Though BabylonH5927should mount up[H8799] H8064to heavenH1219, and though she should fortify[H8762] H4791the heightH5797of her strengthH227, yetH7703from me shall spoilers[H8802] H935come[H8799] H5002unto her, saith[H8803] H3068the LORD.

H6963A soundH2201of a cryH894cometh from BabylonH1419, and greatH7667destructionH776from the landH3778of the Chaldeans:

H3068Because the LORDH7703hath spoiled[H8802] H894BabylonH6, and destroyed[H8765] H1419out of her the greatH6963voiceH1530; when her wavesH1993do roar[H8804] H7227like greatH4325watersH7588, a noiseH6963of their voiceH5414is uttered[H8738] :

H7703Because the spoiler[H8802] H935is come[H8804] H894upon her, even upon BabylonH1368, and her mighty menH3920are taken[H8738] H7198, every one of their bowsH2865is broken[H8765] H3068: for the LORDH410GodH1578of recompencesH7999shall surely[H8763] H7999requite[H8762] .

H7937And I will make drunk[H8689] H8269her princesH2450, and her wiseH6346men, her captainsH5461, and her rulersH1368, and her mighty menH3462: and they shall sleep[H8804] H5769a perpetualH8142sleepH6974, and not wake[H8686] H5002, saith[H8803] H4428the KingH8034, whose nameH3068is the LORDH6635of hosts.

H559Thus saith[H8804] H3068the LORDH6635of hostsH7342; The broadH2346wallsH894of BabylonH6209shall be utterly[H8771] H6209broken[H8698] H1364, and her highH8179gatesH3341shall be burned[H8799] H784with fireH5971; and the peopleH3021shall labour[H8799] H7385in vainH3816, and the folkH1767inH784the fireH3286, and they shall be weary[H8804] .

H1697The wordH3414which JeremiahH5030the prophetH6680commanded[H8765] H8304SeraiahH1121the sonH5374of NeriahH1121, the sonH4271of MaaseiahH3212, when he went[H8800] H6667with ZedekiahH4428the kingH3063of JudahH894into BabylonH7243in the fourthH8141yearH4427of his reign[H8800] H8304. And this SeraiahH4496was a quietH8269prince.

H3414So JeremiahH3789wrote[H8799] H259in aH5612bookH7451all the evilH935that should come[H8799] H894upon BabylonH1697, even all these wordsH3789that are written[H8803] H894against Babylon.

H3414And JeremiahH559said[H8799] H8304to SeraiahH935, When thou comest[H8800] H894to BabylonH7200, and shalt see[H8804] H7121, and shalt read[H8804] H1697all these words;

H559Then shalt thou say[H8804] H3068, O LORDH1696, thou hast spoken[H8765] H4725against this placeH3772, to cut it off[H8687] H3427, that none shall remain[H8802] H120in it, neither manH929nor beastH8077, but that it shall be desolateH5769for ever.

H3615And it shall be, when thou hast made an end[H8763] H7121of reading[H8800] H5612this bookH7194, that thou shalt bind[H8799] H68a stoneH7993to it, and cast[H8689] H8432it into the midstH6578of Euphrates:

H559And thou shalt say[H8804] H894, Thus shall BabylonH8257sink[H8799] H6965, and shall not rise[H8799] H6440fromH7451the evilH935that I will bring[H8688] H3286upon her: and they shall be weary[H8804] H1697. Thus far are the wordsH3414of Jeremiah.
