He is my God, the Rock I run to for protection. God is my shield. His power saves me. [136] The Lord is my hiding place, my place of safety, high in the hills. He saves me from the cruel enemy.


He wanders here and there,\par but his body will be food for the vultures.\par He knows that his death {\cf2\super [28]} is very near.\par


God All-Powerful is great!\par We can’t understand God!\par God is very powerful,\par but he is also good and fair to us.\par God doesn’t want to hurt us!\par


I will sing about love and fairness.\par Lord, I will sing to you.\par


But God saved our ancestors {\cf2\super [554]} \par for his own name’s sake.\par God saved them to show his great power.\par


God, if I am in trouble,\par keep me alive.\par If my enemies are angry at me,\par save me from them.\par


Lord, show me your true love this morning.\par I trust you.\par Show me the things I should do.\par I put my life in your hands!\par


They tell how great your kingdom is.\par They tell how great you are.\par


Lord, let the songs of your power\par exalt you!\par We will sing and play songs\par about your greatness!\par


God was angry,\par so the decision was “death.”\par But he showed his love,\par and gave me “life.”\par At night,\par I lay crying.\par The next morning,\par I was happy and singing!\par


God, your kindness makes me very happy.\par You have seen my suffering.\par You know about the troubles I have.\par

God, you have such great love for me.\par You save me from the place of death.\par

Christ also did this so that the non-Jews could give glory to God for the mercy he gives to them. The Scriptures {\cf2\super [146]} say,


God saved us from these great dangers of death. And God will continue to save us. We have put our hope in him, and he will continue to save us.


With God’s power working in us, God can do much, much more than anything we can ask or think of.


While Christ lived on earth he prayed to God and asked God for help. God is the One who could save him from death, and Jesus prayed to God with loud cries and tears. And God answered Jesus’ prayers because Jesus was humble and did everything God wanted.


The Lord saved me from the lion and the bear. The Lord will also save me from this Philistine.”
