Psalm 36 - Easy To Read Version

¹ A bad person does a very bad thing\par when he says to himself,\par “I will not fear and respect God.”\par

² That person lies to himself.\par That person does not see his own faults.\par So he does not ask for forgiveness.\par

³ His words are only worthless lies.\par He does not become wise\par or learn to do good.\par

⁴ At night, he plans worthless things.\par He gets up and does nothing good.\par But he doesn‘t refuse to do evil.\par

⁵ Lord, your true love is higher than the sky.\par Your loyalty is higher than the clouds.\par

⁶ Lord, your goodness is higher\par than the highest mountain. {\cf2\super [221]} \par Your fairness is deeper\par than the deepest ocean.\par Lord, you protect man and animals.\par

⁷ Nothing is more precious\par than your loving kindness.\par People and angels {\cf2\super [222]} come to you\par for protection.\par

⁸ Lord, they get new strength\par from the good things in your house.\par You let them drink\par from your wonderful river.\par

⁹ Lord, the fountain of life flows from you!\par Your light lets us see light.\par

¹⁰ Lord, continue to love those people\par that truly know you.\par And do good things for those people\par that are true to you. {\cf2\super [223]} \par

¹¹ Lord, don’t let proud people trap me.\par Don’t let me be caught by evil people.\par
