¹ My good God, answer me\par when I pray to you!\par Hear my prayer\par and be kind to me!\par Give me some relief from all my troubles!\par

² People, how long will you say bad things about me?\par You people keep looking for new lies \{to tell about me\}.\par You people love telling those lies.\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [15]})\i0 \par

³ You know that the Lord listens\par to his good people.\par So the Lord hears me when I pray to him.\par

⁴ \{If something is bothering you,\}\par you can be angry, {\cf2\super [16]} \par but don’t sin.\par Think about those things\par when you go to bed,\par and then relax. {\cf2\super [17]} \par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [18]})\i0 \par

⁵ Give good sacrifices {\cf2\super [19]} to God,\par and trust the Lord!\par

⁶ Many people say,\par “Who will show us \{God’s\} goodness?\par Lord, let us see your shining face!”\par

⁷ Lord, you have made me very happy!\par I am happier now than at harvest time—\par when we celebrate because we have much grain and wine.\par

⁸ I go to bed and sleep in peace.\par Why? Because, Lord, you lay me down to sleep in safety.\par
