Job 37 - Easy To Read Version1 “The thunder and lightning frighten me,\par my heart pounds in my chest.\par 2 Listen everyone!\par God’s voice sounds like thunder.\par Listen to the thundering sound\par that comes from God’s mouth.\par 3 God sends his lightning\par to flash across the whole sky.\par It flashed all over the earth.\par 4 Then after the lightning flashes,\par God’s roaring voice can be heard.\par God thunders with his wonderful voice!\par While the lightning flashes,\par God’s voice thunders.\par 5 God’s thundering voice is wonderful!\par He does great things\par that we can’t understand.\par 6 God says to the snow,\par ‘Fall on the earth.’\par And God says to the rain,\par ‘Pour down on the earth.’\par 7 God does that so all of the people\par that God has made\par will know what he can do.\par That is his proof.\par 8 The animals run into their dens\par and stay there.\par 9 Whirlwinds come from the south.\par The cold winds come from the north.\par 10 God’s breath makes ice,\par and freezes the oceans.\par 11 God fills the clouds with water,\par and scatters those thunderclouds.\par 12 God orders the clouds\par to blow all around the earth.\par The clouds do whatever God commands.\par 13 God brings the clouds\par to bring floods to punish people\par or to bring water to show his love.\par 14 “Job, stop for a minute and listen.\par Think about the wonderful things\par God does.\par 15 Job, do you know how God\par controls the clouds?\par Do you know how God\par makes his lightning flash?\par 16 Do you know how the clouds\par hang in the sky?\par Clouds are just one example\par of the wonderful things God made.\par And God knows everything about them.\par 17 But Job, you don’t know these things.\par All you know is that you sweat,\par your clothes stick to you,\par and everything is still and quiet\par when the heat wave comes\par from the south.\par 18 Job, can you help God spread out the sky,\par and make it shine like polished brass?\par 19 “Job, tell us what we should say to God!\par We can’t think of what to say\par because of our ignorance. {\cf2\super [77]} \par 20 I wouldn’t tell God\par that I wanted to talk to him.\par That would be like asking\par to be destroyed.\par 21 A person cannot look at the sun.\par It is very bright and shiny in the sky\par after the wind blows the clouds away.\par 22 \{And God is like that too!\}\par God’s golden glory shines\par from the Holy Mountain. {\cf2\super [78]} \par There is a bright light around God.\par 23 God All-Powerful is great!\par We can’t understand God!\par God is very powerful,\par but he is also good and fair to us.\par God doesn’t want to hurt us!\par 24 That is why people respect God.\par But God doesn’t respect proud people\par that think they are wise.”\par |
