In the past, {you planted, and your plants grew well. But now} you will plant, and the ground will not help your plants grow. You will not have a home on the earth. You will wander from place to place.”


The evil person is very frustrated,\par and there is no hope for him to\par escape the darkness.\par There is a sword somewhere\par that is waiting to kill him.\par


Worry and suffering make him afraid.\par These things attack him like a king\par ready to destroy him.\par


The evil person won’t escape the darkness.\par He will be like a tree\par whose leaves die from disease\par and a wind blows them all away.\par


Bad troubles are hungry for him.\par Ruin and disaster are ready for him\par when he falls.\par


People will push him away from light\par into the darkness.\par They will chase him out of this world.\par


Let them lose their home\par and become beggars.\par


They will look for something to eat,\par but they will find no food\par and no place to sleep.\par


But in the morning, I will sing songs of praise to you.\par I will rejoice in your love.\par Why? Because you are my place\par of safety,\par high in the mountains.\par And I can run to you when\par troubles come.\par


The Lord cares for good people. He gives them the food they need. But the Lord takes away the things that evil people want.


The Lord has a plan for everything. And in the Lord’s plan, evil people will be destroyed.


You should enjoy every day of your life, no matter how long you live! But remember that you will die. And you will be dead much longer than you were alive! And after you are dead, you can’t do anything!


We made an agreement with Egypt.\par We also made an agreement with Assyria {\cf2\super [34]} \par to get enough bread.\par


We risk our lives to get food.\par There are men in the desert with swords.\par


It will be a dark, gloomy day.\par It will be a dark and cloudy day.\par At sunrise, you will see the army\par spread over the mountains.\par It will be a great and powerful army.\par There has never been anything\par like it before.\par And there will never be anything\par like it again.\par


The Lord’s special day will be\par \{a day of sadness, not joy\}\par a day of darkness, not light,\par a day of gloom, without a glimmer of light.\par


God will show his anger at that time. It will be a time of terrible troubles. It will be a time of destruction. It will be a time of darkness—a black, cloudy, and stormy day.


If we continue sinning, all we have is fear in waiting for the judgment and the angry fire that will destroy all people who live against God.
