Lord, let me share in the good things\par you do for your chosen people.\par Let me rejoice with your nation.\par Let me join with your people in praise.\par
Good gates, open for me,\par and I will come in\par and worship the Lord.\par
Those are the Lord’s gates.\par Only good people can go through them.\par
Gates, lift your heads!\par Open, ancient doors,\par and the glorious King will come in.\par
You will be a special nation—a kingdom of priests.’ Moses, you must tell the people of Israel what I have said.”
The Lord will help the people of Israel do good, and the people will be very proud of their God.
You will be built on goodness.\par So you will be safe\par from cruelty and fear.\par You will have nothing to fear.\par Nothing will come to hurt you.\par
“People will make weapons to fight against you, but those weapons will not defeat you. Some people will say things against you. But every person that speaks against you will be shown to be wrong.”
If you do these things, your light will begin shining like the light of dawn. Then your wounds will heal. Your “Goodness” (God) will walk in front of you, and the Glory of the Lord {\cf2\super [446]} will come following behind you.
Your gates will always be open.\par They will not be closed night or day.\par Nations and kings will bring\par their wealth to you.\par
“There will never again be news of violence\par in your country.\par People will never again attack your country\par and steal from you.\par You will name your walls,\par ‘Salvation.’\par You will name your gates,\par ‘Praise.’\par
“All of your people will be good.\par Those people will get the earth forever.\par I made those people.\par They are the wonderful plant\par that I made with my own hands.\par
God sent me to the sad people of Zion. \{I will get them ready for the celebration.\} I will take away the ashes on their head, and I will give them a crown. The believers praised God, and all the people liked them. More and more people were being saved every day; the Lord was adding those people to the group \{of believers\}.
But you are chosen people. You are the King’s priests. You are a holy {\cf2\super [20]} nation of people. You are people who belong to God. God chose you to tell about the wonderful things he has done. He called (brought) you out of darkness (sin) into his wonderful light.
But God made a promise to us. And we are waiting for what he promised—a new sky and a new earth. That will be the place where goodness lives.
