Isaiah 62 - Easy To Read Version

¹ “I love Zion,\par so I will continue to speak for her.\par I love Jerusalem,\par so I will not stop speaking.\par I will speak until goodness shines\par like a bright light.\par I will speak until salvation burns bright\par like a flame.\par

² Then all nations will see your goodness.\par All kings will see your honor.\par Then you will have a new name.\par The Lord himself will give you\par that new name.\par

³ The Lord will be very proud of you.\par You will be like a beautiful crown\par in the Lord’s hand.\par

⁴ You will never again be called\par ‘The People that God had Left.’\par Your land will never again be called\par ‘The Land that God Destroyed.’\par You will be called\par ‘The People God Loves.’\par Your land will be called\par ‘God’s Bride.’\par Why? Because the Lord loves you.\par And your land will belong to him.\par

⁵ When a young man loves a woman,\par he marries her,\par and she becomes his wife.\par In the same way, your land will belong\par to your children.\par A man is very happy with his new wife.\par In the same way, your God\par will be very happy with you.”\par

⁶ “Jerusalem, I put guards (prophets)\par on your walls.\par Those guards will not be silent.\par They will keep praying day and night.”\par

⁷ You must pray to the Lord\par until he makes Jerusalem a city\par that people on earth will praise.\par

⁸ The Lord made a promise.\par The Lord used his own power as proof.\par And the Lord will use his power\par to keep that promise.\par

⁹ The person that gathers food will eat it,\par and that person will praise the Lord.\par The person that gathers the grapes,\par will drink the wine \{from those grapes\}.\par All these things will happen\par in my holy land.”\par

¹⁰ Come through the gates!\par Make the way clear for the people!\par Prepare the road!\par Move all the stones off the road!\par Raise the flag as a sign for the people!\par

¹¹ Listen, the Lord is speaking to all the faraway lands:\par “Tell the people of Zion: {\cf2\super [456]} \par Look, your Savior is coming.\par He is bringing your reward to you.\par He is bringing that reward with him.”\par

¹² His people will be called:\par “The Holy People,”\par “The Saved People of the Lord.”\par And Jerusalem will be called:\par “The City God Wants,”\par “The City God Is With.”\par
