Onethirdof you will dieby plagueor be consumedby famineamongyou, onethirdwill fallby the swordaroundyou, and onethirdI will scatterto everywind,and I will unsheathea swordbehindthem.
Thereforethe LordGODof hosts,The MightyOneof Israel,declares,"Ah,I will be relievedof My adversariesAnd avengeMyself on My foes.
"Therefore I will scatterthem like driftingstrawTo the desertwind.
"Whenthey fast,I am not going to listento their cry;and whenthey offerburntofferingand grain offering,I am not going to acceptthem. RatherI am going to makean endof them by the sword,famineand pestilence."
"And it shall be that whenthey sayto you, 'Whereshould we go?'then you are to tellthem, 'Thussaysthe LORD:"Those [destined] for death,to death;And those [destined] for the sword,to the sword;And those [destined] for famine,to famine;And those [destined] for captivity,to captivity."'
"She who boreseven[sons] pinesaway;Her breathingis labored.Her sunhas setwhile it was yetday;She has beenshamedand humiliated.So I will giveover their survivorsto the swordBeforetheir enemies,"declaresthe LORD.
"He who dwellsin thiscitywill dieby the swordand by famineand by pestilence;but he who goesout and fallsawayto the Chaldeanswho are besiegingyou will live,and he will havehis own lifeas booty.
I will sendthe sword,the famineand the pestilenceupon them untilthey are destroyedfrom the landwhichI gaveto them and their forefathers.'"
Therefore you should nowclearlyunderstandthat you will dieby the sword,by famineand by pestilence,in the placewhereyou wishto goto reside.
Behold,I am watchingoverthem for harmand not for good,and allthe menof Judahwhoare in the landof Egyptwill meettheir endby the swordand by famineuntilthey are completelygone.
thereforethussaysthe LORDof hosts,the Godof Israel,"behold,I will feedthem, thispeople,with wormwoodand givethem poisonedwaterto drink.
"I will scatterthem among the nations,whomneitherthey northeir fathershave known;and I will sendthe swordafterthem untilI have annihilatedthem."
"I will scatterto everywindallwhoare aroundhim, his helpersand allhis troops;and I will drawout a swordafterthem.
"Or[if] I should bringa swordon that countryand say,'Let the swordpassthrough the countryand cutoffmanand beastfrom it,'
"Or[if] I should senda plagueagainstthat countryand pourout My wrathin bloodon it to cutoffmanand beastfrom it,
For thussaysthe LordGOD,"HowmuchmorewhenI sendMy fourseverejudgmentsagainstJerusalem:sword,famine,wildbeastsand plagueto cutoffmanand beastfrom it!
"So I will calmMy furyagainst you and My jealousywill departfrom you, and I will be pacifiedand angrynomore.
"Into his righthandcamethe divination,'Jerusalem,'to setbatteringrams,to openthe mouthfor slaughter,to liftup the voicewith a battlecry,to setbatteringramsagainstthe gates,to castup ramps,to builda siegewall.
"In your filthinessis lewdness.BecauseI [would] have cleansedyou, Yet you are not clean,You will not be cleansedfrom your filthinessagainUntilI have spentMy wrathon you.
"Thusyou shall sayto them, 'Thussaysthe LordGOD,"As I live,surelythose whoare in the wasteplaceswill fallby the sword,and whoeveris in the openfieldI will giveto the beaststo be devoured,and those whoare in the strongholdsand in the caveswill dieof pestilence.
"Also I scatteredthem among the nationsand they were dispersedthroughout the lands.According to their waysand their deedsI judgedthem.
by settingtheir thresholdby My thresholdand their doorpostbesideMy doorpost,with [only] the wallbetweenMe and them. And they have defiledMy holynameby their abominationswhichthey have committed.So I have consumedthem in My anger.
Therefore,fatherswill eat[their] sonsamongyou, and sonswill eattheir fathers;for I will executejudgmentson you and scatterallyour remnantto everywind.
Moreover, I will sendon you famineand wildbeasts,and they will bereaveyou of children;plagueand bloodshedalso will passthrough you, and I will bringthe swordon you. I, the LORD,have spoken.'"
"Onethirdyou shall burnin the fireat the centerof the city,when the daysof the siegeare completed.Then you shall takeonethirdand strike[it] with the swordallaroundthe city, and onethirdyou shall scatterto the wind;and I will unsheathea swordbehindthem.
"However, I will leavea remnant,for you will havethose whoescapedthe swordamong the nationswhen you are scatteredamong the countries.
The swordis outsideand the plagueand the famineare within.He whois in the fieldwill dieby the sword;famineand the plaguewill also consumethose in the city.
Nowthe endis upon you, and I will sendMy angeragainst you; I will judgeyou according to your waysand bringallyour abominationsupon you.
You, however, I will scatteramong the nationsand will drawout a swordafteryou, as your landbecomesdesolateand your citiesbecomewaste.
"And thoughthey gointo captivitybeforetheir enemies,From thereI will commandthe swordthat it slaythem, And I will setMy eyesagainstthem for eviland not for good."
"For behold,I am commanding,And I will shakethe houseof Israelamong allnationsAs [grain] is shakenin a sieve,But not a kernelwill fallto the ground.
"but I scatteredthem with a stormwindamongallthe nationswhomthey have not known.Thus the landis desolatedbehindthem sothat noone wentbackand forth,for they madethe pleasantlanddesolate."
"Among thosenationsyou shall findnorest,and there will be norestingplacefor the soleof your foot;but therethe LORDwill giveyou a tremblingheart,failingof eyes,and despairof soul.
I looked,and behold,an ashenhorse;and he who saton it had the nameDeath;and Hadeswas followingwith him. Authoritywas givento them overa fourthof the earth,to killwith swordand with famineand with pestilenceand by the wild beastsof the earth.
