You, however, I will scatteramong the nationsand will drawout a swordafteryou, as your landbecomesdesolateand your citiesbecomewaste.
"Whenthey sinagainst You (for thereis nomanwhodoes not sin)and You are angrywith them and deliverthem to an enemy,so that they takethem away captiveto the landof the enemy,faroff ornear;
He burnedthe houseof the LORD,the king'shouse,and allthe housesof Jerusalem;even everygreathousehe burnedwith fire.
"But ifyou turnawayand forsakeMy statutesand My commandmentswhichI have setbeforeyou, and goand serveothergodsand worshipthem,
They saidto me, "The remnanttherein the provincewhosurvivedthe captivityare in greatdistressand reproach,and the wallof Jerusalemis brokendownand its gatesare burnedwith fire."
"Rememberthe wordwhichYou commandedYour servantMoses,saying,If you are unfaithfulI will scatteryou among the peoples;
Then Hamansaidto KingAhasuerus,"Thereis a certainpeoplescatteredand dispersedamongthe peoplesin allthe provincesof your kingdom;their lawsare differentfrom [those] of all[other] peopleand they do not observethe king'slaws,so it is not in the king'sinterestto let them remain.
And that He would casttheir seedamong the nationsAnd scatterthem in the lands.
You giveus as sheepto be eatenAnd have scatteredus among the nations.
You sellYour peoplecheaply,And have not profitedby their sale.
Your landis desolate,Your citiesare burnedwith fire,Your fields--strangersare devouringthem in your presence;It is desolation,as overthrownby strangers.
Then I said,"Lord,howlong?"And He answered,"Untilcitiesare devastated[and] withoutinhabitant,Housesare withoutpeopleAnd the landis utterlydesolate,
"Therefore I will scatterthem like driftingstrawTo the desertwind.
"I will makethem an objectof horroramong allthe kingdomsof the earthbecauseof Manasseh,the sonof Hezekiah,the kingof Judah,for whathe didin Jerusalem.
Hearthe wordof the LORD,O nations,And declarein the coastlandsafaroff,And say,"He who scatteredIsraelwill gatherhim And keephim as a shepherdkeeps his flock."
"A lionhas goneup from his thicket,And a destroyerof nationshas setout; He has goneout from his placeTo makeyour landa waste.Your citieswill be ruinsWithoutinhabitant.
"Then I will make to ceasefrom the citiesof Judahand from the streetsof Jerusalemthe voiceof joyand the voiceof gladness,the voiceof the bridegroomand the voiceof the bride;for the landwill becomea ruin.
"And deathwill be chosenratherthanlifeby allthe remnantthat remainsof thisevilfamily,that remainsin allthe placesto whichI have driventhem," declaresthe LORDof hosts.
"I will scatterthem among the nations,whomneitherthey northeir fathershave known;and I will sendthe swordafterthem untilI have annihilatedthem."
Howlonelysitsthe cityThat was fullof people!She has becomelike a widowWhowas [once] greatamong the nations!She who was a princessamong the provincesHas becomea forcedlaborer!
Judahhas goneinto exileunderafflictionAnd underharshservitude;She dwellsamong the nations,[But] she has foundnorest;Allher pursuershave overtakenher In the midstof distress.
"Depart!Unclean!"they criedof themselves. "Depart,depart,do not touch!"Sothey fledand wandered;[Men] among the nationssaid,"They shall not continueto dwell[with us]."
The presenceof the LORDhas scatteredthem, He will not continueto regardthem; They did not honorthe priests,They did not favorthe elders.
"The inhabitedcitieswill be laidwasteand the landwill be a desolation.So you will knowthat I am the LORD."'"
"AlsoI sworeto them in the wildernessthat I would scatterthem among the nationsand dispersethem among the lands,
"I will scatteryou among the nationsand I will disperseyou through the lands,and I will consumeyour uncleannessfrom you.
"Onethirdyou shall burnin the fireat the centerof the city,when the daysof the siegeare completed.Then you shall takeonethirdand strike[it] with the swordallaroundthe city, and onethirdyou shall scatterto the wind;and I will unsheathea swordbehindthem.
For behold,they will gobecauseof destruction;Egyptwill gatherthem up, Memphiswill burythem. Weedswill takeovertheir treasuresof silver;Thorns[will be] in their tents.
"And thoughthey gointo captivitybeforetheir enemies,From thereI will commandthe swordthat it slaythem, And I will setMy eyesagainstthem for eviland not for good."
"but I scatteredthem with a stormwindamongallthe nationswhomthey have not known.Thus the landis desolatedbehindthem sothat noone wentbackand forth,for they madethe pleasantlanddesolate."
and they will fallby the edgeof the sword,and will be led captiveinto allthe nations;and Jerusalemwill be trampled underfoot by the Gentilesuntilthe timesof the Gentilesare fulfilled.
