³ H6680And command[H8761] H559ye them, saying[H8800] H5375, Take[H8798] H8432you hence out of the midstH3383of JordanH3548, out of the place where the priestsH7272' feetH4673stoodH3559firm[H8687] H8147, twelveH6240 H68stonesH5674, and ye shall carry them over[H8689] H3240with you, and leave[H8689] H4411them in the lodging placeH3885, where ye shall lodge[H8799] H3915this night.

⁴ H3091Then JoshuaH7121called[H8799] H8147the twelveH6240 H376menH3559, whom he had prepared[H8689] H1121of the childrenH3478of IsraelH259, out of everyH7626tribeH376a man:

⁵ H3091And JoshuaH559said[H8799] H5674unto them, Pass over[H8798] H6440beforeH727the arkH3068of the LORDH430your GodH8432into the midstH3383of JordanH7311, and take ye up[H8685] H259everyH376manH68of you a stoneH7926upon his shoulderH4557, according unto the numberH7626of the tribesH1121of the childrenH3478of Israel:

⁶ H226That this may be a signH7130amongH1121you, that when your childrenH7592ask[H8799] H4279their fathers in time to comeH559, saying[H8800] H68, What mean ye by these stones?

⁷ H559Then ye shall answer[H8804] H4325them, That the watersH3383of JordanH3772were cut off[H8738] H6440beforeH727the arkH1285of the covenantH3068of the LORDH5674; when it passed over[H8800] H3383JordanH4325, the watersH3383of JordanH3772were cut off[H8738] H68: and these stonesH2146shall be for a memorialH1121unto the childrenH3478of IsraelH5704forH5769ever.

⁸ H1121And the childrenH3478of IsraelH6213did[H8799] H3091so as JoshuaH6680commanded[H8765] H5375, and took up[H8799] H8147twelveH6240 H68stonesH8432out of the midstH3383of JordanH3068, as the LORDH1696spake[H8765] H3091unto JoshuaH4557, according to the numberH7626of the tribesH1121of the childrenH3478of IsraelH5674, and carried them over[H8686] H4411with them unto the place where they lodgedH3240, and laid them down[H8686]  there.

⁹ H3091And JoshuaH6965set up[H8689] H8147twelveH6240 H68stonesH8432in the midstH3383of JordanH7272, in the place where the feetH3548of the priestsH5375which bare[H8802] H727the arkH1285of the covenantH4673stoodH3117: and they are there unto this day.

¹⁰ H3548For the priestsH5375which bare[H8802] H727the arkH5975stood[H8802] H8432in the midstH3383of JordanH1697, until every thingH8552was finished[H8800] H3068that the LORDH6680commanded[H8765] H3091JoshuaH1696to speak[H8763] H5971unto the peopleH4872, according to all that MosesH6680commanded[H8765] H3091JoshuaH5971: and the peopleH4116hasted[H8762] H5674and passed over[H8799] .

¹¹ H5971And it came to pass, when all the peopleH8552were clean[H8804] H5674passed over[H8800] H727, that the arkH3068of the LORDH5674passed over[H8799] H3548, and the priestsH6440, in the presenceH5971of the people.

¹² H1121And the childrenH7205of ReubenH1121, and the childrenH1410of GadH2677, and halfH7626the tribeH4519of ManassehH5674, passed over[H8799] H2571armedH6440beforeH1121the childrenH3478of IsraelH4872, as MosesH1696spake[H8765]  unto them:

¹³ H705About fortyH505thousandH2502prepared[H8803] H6635for warH5674passed over[H8804] H6440beforeH3068the LORDH4421unto battleH6160, to the plainsH3405of Jericho.

¹⁴ H3117On that dayH3068the LORDH1431magnified[H8765] H3091JoshuaH5869in the sightH3478of all IsraelH3372; and they feared[H8799] H3372him, as they feared[H8804] H4872MosesH3117, all the daysH2416of his life.

¹⁵ H3068And the LORDH559spake[H8799] H3091unto JoshuaH559, saying[H8800] ,

¹⁶ H6680Command[H8761] H3548the priestsH5375that bear[H8802] H727the arkH5715of the testimonyH5927, that they come up[H8799] H3383out of Jordan.

¹⁷ H3091JoshuaH6680therefore commanded[H8762] H3548the priestsH559, saying[H8800] H5927, Come ye up[H8798] H3383out of Jordan.

¹⁸ H3548And it came to pass, when the priestsH5375that bare[H8802] H727the arkH1285of the covenantH3068of the LORDH5927were come up[H8800] H8432out of the midstH3383of JordanH3709, and the solesH3548of the priestsH7272' feetH5423were lifted up[H8738] H2724unto the dry landH4325, that the watersH3383of JordanH7725returned[H8799] H4725unto their placeH3212, and flowed[H8799] H1415over all his banksH8543, asH8032they did before.

¹⁹ H5971And the peopleH5927came up[H8804] H3383out of JordanH6218on the tenthH7223day of the firstH2320monthH2583, and encamped[H8799] H1537in GilgalH4217, in the eastH7097borderH3405of Jericho.

²⁰ H8147And those twelveH6240 H68stonesH3947, which they took out[H8804] H3383of JordanH3091, did JoshuaH6965pitch[H8689] H1537in Gilgal.

²¹ H559And he spake[H8799] H1121unto the childrenH3478of IsraelH559, saying[H8800] H1121, When your childrenH7592shall ask[H8799] H1their fathersH4279in time to comeH559, saying[H8800] H68, What mean these stones?

²² H1121Then ye shall let your childrenH3045know[H8689] H559, saying[H8800] H3478, IsraelH5674came over[H8804] H3383this JordanH3004on dry land.

²³ H3068For the LORDH430your GodH3001dried up[H8689] H4325the watersH3383of JordanH6440from beforeH5674you, until ye were passed over[H8800] H3068, as the LORDH430your GodH6213did[H8804] H5488to the RedH3220seaH3001, which he dried up[H8689] H6440from beforeH5674us, until we were gone over[H8800] :

²⁴ H5971That all the peopleH776of the earthH3045might know[H8800] H3027the handH3068of the LORDH2389, that it is mightyH3372: that ye might fear[H8804] H3068the LORDH430your GodH3117for ever.
