"Whydo you spendmoneyfor what is not bread,And your wagesfor whatdoes not satisfy?Listencarefullyto Me, and eatwhatis good,And delightyourselfin abundance.
The afflictedwill eatand be satisfied;Those who seekHim will praisethe LORD.Let your heartliveforever!
Come,you children,listento me; I will teachyou the fearof the LORD.
They drinktheir fillof the abundanceof Your house;And You givethem to drinkof the riverof Your delights.
My soulis satisfiedas with marrowand fatness,And my mouthofferspraiseswith joyfullips.
And He said,"Ifyou will giveearnestheedto the voiceof the LORDyour God,and dowhat is rightin His sight,and giveearto His commandments,and keepallHis statutes,I will putnoneof the diseaseson you whichI have puton the Egyptians;for I, the LORD,am your healer."
"But he who listensto me shall livesecurelyAnd will be at easefrom the dreadof evil."
Untilan arrowpiercesthroughhis liver;As a birdhastensto the snare,So he does not knowthat it [will cost him] his life.
"Nowtherefore, [O] sons,listento me, For blessedare they who keepmy ways.
"Come,eatof my foodAnd drinkof the wineI have mixed.
a manto whomGodhas givenrichesand wealthand honorso that his soullacksnothingof allthat he desires;yet Godhas not empoweredhim to eatfrom them, for a foreignerenjoysthem. Thisis vanityand a severeaffliction.
"Ifyou consentand obey,You will eatthe bestof the land;
So it will be in that day,that his burdenwill be removedfrom your shouldersand his yokefrom your neck,and the yokewill be brokenbecauseof fatness.
The LORDof hostswill preparea lavishbanquetfor allpeopleson thismountain;A banquetof agedwine,choicepieces with marrow,[And] refined,agedwine.
He feedson ashes;a deceivedhearthas turnedhim aside.And he cannotdeliverhimself,norsay,"Is there not a liein my righthand?"
"Those who lavishgoldfrom the purseAnd weighsilveron the scaleHirea goldsmith,and he makesit [into] a god;They bowdown,indeedthey worshipit.
"Listento me, you who pursuerighteousness,Who seekthe LORD:Lookto the rockfrom which you were hewnAnd to the quarryfrom which you were dug.
"Payattentionto Me, O My people,And giveearto Me, O My nation;For a lawwill goforthfrom Me, And I will setMy justicefor a lightof the peoples.
"Listento Me, you who knowrighteousness,A peoplein whose heartis My law;Do not fearthe reproachof man,Norbe dismayedat their revilings.
The LORDhas swornby His righthandand by His strongarm,"I will neveragaingiveyour grain[as] foodfor your enemies;Norwill foreignersdrinkyour newwinefor whichyou have labored."
But those who garnerit will eatit and praisethe LORD;And those who gatherit will drinkit in the courtsof My sanctuary.
"They will not laborin vain,Or bear[children] for calamity;For they are the offspringof those blessedby the LORD,And their descendantswith them.
"They have sownwheatand have reapedthorns,They have strainedthemselves to noprofit.But be ashamedof your harvestBecauseof the fierceangerof the LORD."
"But it will comeabout, ifyou listenattentivelyto Me," declaresthe LORD,"to bringnoloadin through the gatesof thiscityon the sabbathday,but to keepthe sabbathdayholyby doingnoworkon it,
"For My peoplehave committedtwoevils:They have forsakenMe, The fountainof livingwaters,To hewfor themselves cisterns,BrokencisternsThat canholdnowater.
"I will fillthe soulof the priestswith abundance,And My peoplewill be satisfiedwith My goodness,"declaresthe LORD.
Ephraimfeedson wind,And pursuesthe eastwindcontinually;He multipliesliesand violence.Moreover, he makesa covenantwith Assyria,And oilis carriedto Egypt.
For they sowthe windAnd they reapthe whirlwind.The standinggrainhasnoheads;It yieldsnograin.Shouldit yield,strangerswould swallowit up.
"Is it not indeedfrom the LORDof hostsThat peoplestoilfor fire,And nationsgrowwearyfor nothing?
BUT IN VAINDO THEY WORSHIPME, TEACHINGAS DOCTRINESTHE PRECEPTSOF MEN.'"
"Againhe sentout otherslavessaying, 'Tellthosewho have been invited,"Behold,I have preparedmy dinner;my oxenand my fattened livestockare [all] butcheredand everythingis ready;cometo the wedding feast."'
"Blessedare thosewho hungerand thirstfor righteousness,for they shall be satisfied.
After He calledthe crowdto Him again,He [began] sayingto them, "Listento Me, allof you, and understand:
and bringthe fattenedcalf,killit, and let us eatand celebrate;
"Do not workfor the foodwhich perishes,but for the foodwhich enduresto eternallife,whichthe Sonof Manwill giveto you, for on Him the Father,God,has set His seal."
Sofaith[comes] from hearing,and hearingby the wordof Christ.
but Israel,pursuinga lawof righteousness,did not arriveat [that] law.
"It shall comeabout, ifyou listenobedientlyto my commandmentswhichI am commandingyou today,to lovethe LORDyour Godand to serveHim with allyour heartand allyour soul,
Do not be carried awayby variedand strangeteachings;for it is goodfor the heartto be strengthenedby grace,not by foods,throughwhichthosewho were so occupiedwere not benefited.
