Soas I live,'declaresthe LordGOD,'surely,becauseyou have defiledMy sanctuarywith allyour detestableidolsand with allyour abominations,therefore I will alsowithdraw,and My eyewill havenopityand I will not spare.
He builtaltarsin the houseof the LORD,of whichthe LORDhad said,"In JerusalemI will putMy name."
Then he setthe carvedimageof Asherahthat he had made,in the houseof whichthe LORDsaidto Davidand to his sonSolomon,"In thishouseand in Jerusalem,whichI have chosenfrom allthe tribesof Israel,I will putMy nameforever.
The altarswhich[were] on the roof,the upperchamberof Ahaz,whichthe kingsof Judahhad made,and the altarswhichManassehhad madein the twocourtsof the houseof the LORD,the kingbrokedown;and he smashedthem thereand threwtheir dustinto the brookKidron.
He builtaltarsin the houseof the LORDof whichthe LORDhad said,"My nameshall be in Jerusalemforever."
Then he putthe carvedimageof the idolwhichhe had madein the houseof God,of whichGodhad saidto Davidand to Solomonhis son,"In thishouseand in Jerusalem,whichI have chosenfrom allthe tribesof Israel,I will putMy nameforever;
Furthermore,allthe officialsof the priestsand the peoplewere veryunfaithful[following] allthe abominationsof the nations;and they defiledthe houseof the LORDwhichHe had sanctifiedin Jerusalem.
"For it will hurlat him withoutsparing;He will surelytry to fleefrom its power.
When they are diminishedand boweddownThroughoppression,miseryand sorrow,
"ThereforeI sworein My anger,Trulythey shall not enterinto My rest."
Correctme, O LORD,but with justice;Not with Your anger,orYou will bringme to nothing.
"I will firstdoublyrepaytheir iniquityand their sin,becausethey have pollutedMy land;they have filledMy inheritancewith the carcassesof their detestableidolsand with their abominations."
"But they puttheir detestablethingsin the housewhichis calledby My name,to defileit.
Yet I sentyou allMy servantsthe prophets,againand again,saying,"Oh,do not dothisabominablethingwhichI hate."
The LORDhas donewhatHe purposed;He has accomplishedHis wordWhichHe commandedfrom daysof old.He has throwndownwithoutsparing,And He has caused the enemyto rejoiceoveryou; He has exaltedthe mightof your adversaries.
On the groundin the streetsLieyoungand old;My virginsand my youngmenHave fallenby the sword.You have slain[them] in the dayof Your anger,You have slaughtered,not sparing.
"When they comethere,they will removeallits detestablethingsand allits abominationsfrom it.
"But as for those whose heartsgoafter their detestablethingsand abominations,I will bringtheir conductdownon their heads,"declaresthe LordGOD.
"For thussaysthe LordGOD,'Behold,I will giveyou into the handof those whomyou hate,into the handof those from whomyou were alienated.
"Again,they have donethisto Me: they have defiledMy sanctuaryon the samedayand have profanedMy sabbaths.
"For when they had slaughteredtheir childrenfor their idols,they enteredMy sanctuaryon the samedayto profaneit; and lo,thusthey didwithinMy house.
"I, the LORD,have spoken;it is comingand I will act.I will not relent,and I will not pityand I will not be sorry;according to your waysand according to your deedsI will judgeyou," declaresthe LordGOD.'"
"It will be the lowestof the kingdoms,and it will neveragainliftitself up abovethe nations.And I will makethem so smallthat they will not ruleoverthe nations.
"Sayto them, 'As I live!'declaresthe LordGOD,'I takenopleasurein the deathof the wicked,but ratherthat the wickedturnfrom his wayand live.Turnback,turnbackfrom your evilways!Whythen will you die,O houseof Israel?'
by settingtheir thresholdby My thresholdand their doorpostbesideMy doorpost,with [only] the wallbetweenMe and them. And they have defiledMy holynameby their abominationswhichthey have committed.So I have consumedthem in My anger.
when you broughtin foreigners,uncircumcisedin heartand uncircumcisedin flesh,to be in My sanctuaryto profaneit, [even] My house,when you offeredMy food,the fatand the blood;for they madeMy covenantvoid--[this] in additionto allyour abominations.
"Therefore,thussaysthe LordGOD,'Becauseyou have moreturmoilthanthe nationswhichsurroundyou [and] have not walkedin My statutes,norobservedMy ordinances,norobservedthe ordinancesof the nationswhichsurroundyou,'
They transformedthe beautyof His ornamentsinto pride,and they madethe imagesof their abominations[and] their detestablethingswith it; thereforeI will makeit an abhorrentthingto them.
For My eyewill havenopityon you, norwill I spare[you], but I will bringyour waysupon you, and your abominationswill be amongyou; then you will knowthat I am the LORD!'
My eyewill shownopitynorwill I spare.I will repayyou according to your ways,while your abominationsare in your midst;then you will knowthat I, the LORD,do the smiting.
He saidto me, "Do you see[this], sonof man?Yetyou will seestillgreaterabominationsthanthese."
Then He broughtme into the innercourtof the LORD'Shouse.And behold,at the entranceto the templeof the LORD,betweenthe porchand the altar,[were] about twenty-fivemenwith their backsto the templeof the LORDand their facestoward the east;and they were prostratingthemselves eastwardtoward the sun.
"Therefore, I indeedwill dealin wrath.My eyewill havenopitynorwill I spare;and though they cryin My earswith a loudvoice,yet I will not listento them."
"But as for Me, My eyewill havenopitynorwill I spare,but I will bringtheir conductupon their heads."
But to the othersHe saidin my hearing,"Gothrough the cityafterhim and strike;do not let your eyehavepityand do not spare.
"Thus you shall keepthe sonsof Israelseparatedfrom their uncleanness,sothat they will not diein their uncleannessby their defilingMy tabernaclethat is amongthem."
The LORDhas swornby the prideof Jacob,"Indeed,I will neverforgetanyof their deeds.
"For I will nolongerhavepityon the inhabitantsof the land,"declaresthe LORD;"but behold,I will cause the mento fall,eachinto another'spowerand into the powerof his king;and they will strikethe land,and I will not deliver[them] from their power."
"They will be Mine," saysthe LORDof hosts,"on the daythat I prepare[My] own possession,and I will sparethem as a manspareshis own sonwho serveshim."
Nowiftheir transgressionis richesfor the worldand their failureis richesfor the Gentiles,how muchmorewill their fulfillmentbe!
for ifGoddid not sparethe naturalbranches,He will not spareyou, either.
He whodid not spareHis ownSon,but deliveredHim over for us all,howwill He not alsowith Him freely giveus all things?
"The LORDshall neverbe willingto forgivehim, but ratherthe angerof the LORDand His jealousywill burnagainst that man,and everycursewhich is writtenin thisbookwill reston him, and the LORDwill blotout his namefrom underheaven.
