61 Bible Verses That Talk About Prayer

Prayer, as the Bible teaches us, is about seeking God's favor, crying out to Him, humbling ourselves, and kneeling before the Father. Scripture gives us so many examples of prayer, but I want to share one that's really stuck with me: the prayer of Jabez in 1 Chronicles 4:9-10. He asks for such powerful things: "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Oh, that your hand would be with me and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain!" And God granted his request.

It's so important to keep praying. Prayer has the power to transform and change our lives, even canceling out any curse spoken against us in Jesus' name. Even when people are hoping we'll fail, when we ask Jesus to keep us from harm and give us victory in every situation, He will. The key is to believe in Him, be consistent, strive each day to see His will in our lives, and never give up.

Nothing is impossible for God. He's all-powerful and has the strength to do what we can't. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person has great power, and for those who believe, all things are possible.

Prayer

Beloved Father, I adore Your name, oh God, You are holy, strong, and mighty. I come to You today, crying out to You and seeking Your face. I ask that You help me to have a prayer life like the Prophet Daniel, who cried out to You three times a day. Even in the lion's den, You protected him and didn't hand him over to his enemies. Holy Spirit, guide me, awaken within me that fervent prayer, so I can give You priority in every moment. Lord Jesus, You are my greatest example of prayer. Teach me to be obedient, even unto death, and not to live by my own will, but Yours. Teach me to pray with understanding and revelation, just like Solomon, who in the midst of his prayer didn't ask for riches or glory, but for wisdom, and through it, You gave him both glory and riches. In Jesus' name, Amen.
