Biblical promises for all occasions
Imagine this: God has a promise tucked away, just for you, for every single thing you're going through. He's always there, right beside you, and He's made these amazing promises so you can trust that He's working things out and you can just rest in Him. Think about it – not one of His promises has ever failed. They've all come true.
Every single promise you ask for in Jesus' name is guaranteed. God will make it happen, for your good and for His glory. These promises are kind of like a two-way street: there's a condition and a result. The result depends on whether you meet the condition.
A promise from God is like a declaration, and it has the power to become reality, as long as you meet the conditions. Spend some time in the Bible, and you'll find tons of promises God has made. A great example is the promise of salvation in the New Covenant. Paul writes, "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).
See how that works? It's up to you to believe and confess that Jesus is Lord. When you do that, you activate the promise, and it comes true. God wants everyone to be saved, but not everyone unlocks the power of that promise.
Another example is Exodus 20:12: "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you." This promise from God only comes true if you honor your parents. To see God fulfill this promise in your life, you have to meet the condition, and then the result will follow.

For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.The one who has the Son has this eternal life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have this eternal life.
For the payoff of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; no one will snatch them from my hand.My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can snatch them from my Father’s hand.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live even if he dies,and the one who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
“I tell you the solemn truth, the one who hears my message and believes the one who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned, but has crossed over from death to life.
For this is the will of my Father – for everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him to have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he gave us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,that is, into an inheritance imperishable, undefiled, and unfading. It is reserved in heaven for you,
Now this is eternal life – that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you sent.
Listen, I will tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed –in a moment, in the blinking of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
Finally the crown of righteousness is reserved for me. The Lord, the righteous Judge, will award it to me in that day – and not to me only, but also to all who have set their affection on his appearing.
But our citizenship is in heaven – and we also await a savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,who will transform these humble bodies of ours into the likeness of his glorious body by means of that power by which he is able to subject all things to himself.
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a shout of command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.Then we who are alive, who are left, will be suddenly caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord.
“Do not let your hearts be distressed. You believe in God; believe also in me.Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you, I do not speak on my own initiative, but the Father residing in me performs his miraculous deeds.Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me, but if you do not believe me, believe because of the miraculous deeds themselves.I tell you the solemn truth, the person who believes in me will perform the miraculous deeds that I am doing, and will perform greater deeds than these, because I am going to the Father.And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.“If you love me, you will obey my commandments.Then I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you forever –the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot accept, because it does not see him or know him. For we know that if our earthly house, the tent we live in, is dismantled, we have a building from God, a house not built by human hands, that is eternal in the heavens.
Night will be no more, and they will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, because the Lord God will shine on them, and they will reign forever and ever.
I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers,nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Now when this perishable puts on the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then the saying that is written will happen, “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”
But here is why I was treated with mercy: so that in me as the worst, Christ Jesus could demonstrate his utmost patience, as an example for those who are going to believe in him for eternal life.
But, according to his promise, we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness truly resides.
For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God;it is not from works, so that no one can boast.
The one who conquers will be dressed like them in white clothing, and I will never erase his name from the book of life, but will declare his name before my Father and before his angels.
And so he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the eternal inheritance he has promised, since he died to set them free from the violations committed under the first covenant.
because the Lamb in the middle of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
Do not work for the food that disappears, but for the food that remains to eternal life – the food which the Son of Man will give to you. For God the Father has put his seal of approval on him.”
And whoever has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.
You lead me in the path of life; I experience absolute joy in your presence; you always give me sheer delight.
But just as it is written, “Things that no eye has seen, or ear heard, or mind imagined, are the things God has prepared for those who love him.”
so that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace will reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that whenever it is revealed we will be like him, because we will see him just as he is.
he will swallow up death permanently. The sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from every face, and remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. Indeed, the Lord has announced it!
Nevertheless, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names stand written in heaven.”
The one who loves his life destroys it, and the one who hates his life in this world guards it for eternal life.
And, after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory in Christ will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
And let us hold unwaveringly to the hope that we confess, for the one who made the promise is trustworthy.
But those who wait for the Lord’s help find renewed strength; they rise up as if they had eagles’ wings, they run without growing weary, they walk without getting tired.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.
It is the same with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable, what is raised is imperishable.It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power;it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.
The Spirit himself bears witness to our spirit that we are God’s children.And if children, then heirs (namely, heirs of God and also fellow heirs with Christ) – if indeed we suffer with him so we may also be glorified with him.
The one who has an ear had better hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers, I will permit him to eat from the tree of life that is in the paradise of God.’
By this the love of God is revealed in us: that God has sent his one and only Son into the world so that we may live through him.
For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
For our momentary, light suffering is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparisonbecause we are not looking at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen. For what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.
He delivered us from the power of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of the Son he loves,in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
but now made visible through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus. He has broken the power of death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel!
And when you heard the word of truth (the gospel of your salvation) – when you believed in Christ – you were marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit,who is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory.
Blessed and holy is the one who takes part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure and steadfast, which reaches inside behind the curtain,
But whoever drinks some of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again, but the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up to eternal life.”
and the life was revealed, and we have seen and testify and announce to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us).
You have been born anew, not from perishable but from imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God.
Through these things he has bestowed on us his precious and most magnificent promises, so that by means of what was promised you may become partakers of the divine nature, after escaping the worldly corruption that is produced by evil desire.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me – and I in him – bears much fruit, because apart from me you can accomplish nothing.
And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say: “Come!” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wants it take the water of life free of charge.
Jesus replied, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Thus we are full of courage and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
Surely your goodness and faithfulness will pursue me all my days, and I will live in the Lord’s house for the rest of my life.
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and earth had ceased to exist, and the sea existed no more.
But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Your dead will come back to life; your corpses will rise up. Wake up and shout joyfully, you who live in the ground! For you will grow like plants drenched with the morning dew, and the earth will bring forth its dead spirits.
Rejoice and be glad because your reward is great in heaven, for they persecuted the prophets before you in the same way.
Not only this, but we ourselves also, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we eagerly await our adoption, the redemption of our bodies.
But as it is, they aspire to a better land, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: ‘Blessed are the dead, those who die in the Lord from this moment on!’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “so they can rest from their hard work, because their deeds will follow them.”
Yes, I say also to you, true companion, help them. They have struggled together in the gospel ministry along with me and Clement and my other coworkers, whose names are in the book of life.
Because Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, to bring you to God, by being put to death in the flesh but by being made alive in the spirit.
Now may the God of peace himself make you completely holy and may your spirit and soul and body be kept entirely blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.He who calls you is trustworthy, and he will in fact do this.
I am the door. If anyone enters through me, he will be saved, and will come in and go out, and find pasture.
In a little while the world will not see me any longer, but you will see me; because I live, you will live too.
For now we see in a mirror indirectly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known.
The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some regard slowness, but is being patient toward you, because he does not wish for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
Compete well for the faith and lay hold of that eternal life you were called for and made your good confession for in the presence of many witnesses.
So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old has passed away – look, what is new has come!
But the gate is narrow and the way is difficult that leads to life, and there are few who find it.
The one who believes in the Son has eternal life. The one who rejects the Son will not see life, but God’s wrath remains on him.
For the Lord promotes justice, and never abandons his faithful followers. They are permanently secure, but the children of evil men are wiped out.
And those he predestined, he also called; and those he called, he also justified; and those he justified, he also glorified.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so also we believe that God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep as Christians.
The one who conquers I will make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will never depart from it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God (the new Jerusalem that comes down out of heaven from my God), and my new name as well.
Then Jesus spoke out again, “I am the light of the world. The one who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is God’s power for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
But God will rescue my life from the power of Sheol; certainly he will pull me to safety. (Selah)
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, so that they can see my glory that you gave me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
but nothing ritually unclean will ever enter into it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or practices falsehood, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
In fact, they can no longer die, because they are equal to angels and are sons of God, since they are sons of the resurrection.
So since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us give thanks, and through this let us offer worship pleasing to God in devotion and awe.
Those whom the Lord has ransomed will return; they will enter Zion with a happy shout. Unending joy will crown them, happiness and joy will overwhelm them; grief and suffering will disappear.
He was given over because of our transgressions and was raised for the sake of our justification.
If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire.And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into fiery hell.
But the Lord continually shows loyal love to his faithful followers, and is faithful to their descendants,
And the world is passing away with all its desires, but the person who does the will of God remains forever.
eternal life to those who by perseverance in good works seek glory and honor and immortality,
that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, so that, because you have been rooted and grounded in love,you may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,and thus to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
“Do not be amazed at this, because a time is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voiceand will come out – the ones who have done what is good to the resurrection resulting in life, and the ones who have done what is evil to the resurrection resulting in condemnation.
The sun will no longer supply light for you by day, nor will the moon’s brightness shine on you; the Lord will be your permanent source of light – the splendor of your God will shine upon you.For, look, darkness covers the earth and deep darkness covers the nations, but the Lord shines on you; his splendor appears over you.Your sun will no longer set; your moon will not disappear; the Lord will be your permanent source of light; your time of sorrow will be over.

– since the eyes of your heart have been enlightened – so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what is the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
We do so because we know that the one who raised up Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus and will bring us with you into his presence.
who by God’s power are protected through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been fathered by God and knows God.
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. The one who comes to me will never go hungry, and the one who believes in me will never be thirsty.
Certainly spending just one day in your temple courts is better than spending a thousand elsewhere. I would rather stand at the entrance to the temple of my God than live in the tents of the wicked.For the Lord God is our sovereign protector. The Lord bestows favor and honor; he withholds no good thing from those who have integrity.
His master answered, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave! You have been faithful in a few things. I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master.’
Do not be afraid of the things you are about to suffer. The devil is about to have some of you thrown into prison so you may be tested, and you will experience suffering for ten days. Remain faithful even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown that is life itself.
and he raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,to demonstrate in the coming ages the surpassing wealth of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
Therefore, get your minds ready for action by being fully sober, and set your hope completely on the grace that will be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed.
And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us insight to know him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This one is the true God and eternal life.
For to me, living is Christ and dying is gain.Now if I am to go on living in the body, this will mean productive work for me, yet I don’t know which I prefer:I feel torn between the two, because I have a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far,
But now, freed from sin and enslaved to God, you have your benefit leading to sanctification, and the end is eternal life.
Blessed are those who wash their robes so they can have access to the tree of life and can enter into the city by the gates.
But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead also came through a man.For just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.

Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life because of me will find it.
And just as people are appointed to die once, and then to face judgment,so also, after Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many, to those who eagerly await him he will appear a second time, not to bear sin but to bring salvation.
And so, since we have been justified by his grace, we become heirs with the confident expectation of eternal life.”
and the one who lives! I was dead, but look, now I am alive – forever and ever – and I hold the keys of death and of Hades!
