62 Bible Verses to Pray for Others

I've been thinking about how the Bible tells us in James 5:16¹, "Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." It's easy to get caught up in our own lives and forget about everyone else, isn't it? But when we pray for others, it's like we're praying for ourselves, too. When we lift others up, something powerful happens. It's like heaven leans in and listens.

If you want a heart that truly pleases God, I encourage you to look around. See the people in your life. Don't be indifferent to their struggles. We're called to love our neighbors as ourselves. That means we can't ignore their pain. We can't just walk on by when someone is hurting.

Imagine being God's answer to someone's prayer. Imagine being the channel through which God pours out love and healing. That's what we're called to be. We can be there for each other, sharing each other's burdens. We can weep with those who weep. That's how we reflect Jesus' love.

And you never know, that simple act of compassion, that heartfelt prayer, could be the very thing that leads someone to salvation and freedom. So let's keep each other in our prayers. Let's pray for those who come to mind, and especially for our brothers and sisters in Christ. It’s what the Bible teaches us, and it’s a beautiful way to live.

With every prayer and petition, pray at all times in the Spirit, and to this end be alert, with all perseverance and requests for all the saints.

First of all, then, I urge that requests, prayers, intercessions, and thanks be offered on behalf of all people,

If one member suffers, everyone suffers with it. If a member is honored, all rejoice with it.

Avoid them!For these are the kind who do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By their smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of the naive.
