Then Abram left that place and traveled to the mountains east of Bethel. Abram set up his tent there. The city of Bethel was to the west. The city of Ai was to the east. At that place Abram built another altar to the Lord. And Abram worshiped the Lord there.


Seth also had a son. He named him Enosh. At that time, the people began to pray to the Lord. [31]


so the king will be pleased with your beauty.\par He will be your new husband. {\cf2\super [278]} \par So you must honor him.\par


God has spoken to the Jewish people. God sent them the Good News {\cf2\super [210]} that peace has come through Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Lord (Ruler) of all people!


To God, those people are not different from us. When they believed, God made their hearts pure.


Later, Paul left Athens and went to the city of Corinth.


Now, don’t wait any longer. Get up, be baptized {\cf2\super [440]} and wash your sins away. Do this, trusting in him (Jesus) \{to save you\}.’


You will show the people the Truth. The people will turn away from darkness (sin) to the light (good). They will turn away from the power of Satan, and they will turn to God. Then their sins can be forgiven. They can have a share with those people who have been made holy {\cf2\super [494]} by believing in me.’”


But Ananias answered, “Lord (Jesus), many people have told me about this man (Saul). They told me about the many bad things this man did to your holy people {\cf2\super [189]} in Jerusalem.


Now he (Saul) has come here to Damascus. The leading priests have given him the power to arrest all people that believe in you. {\cf2\super [190]} ”


All the people that heard Saul were amazed. They said, “This is the same man that was in Jerusalem. He was trying to destroy the people that trust in this name (Jesus)! He (Saul) has come here to do the same thing. He came here to arrest the followers \{of Jesus\} and take them back \{to Jerusalem\} to the leading priests.”


This letter is to all of you in Rome that God has called to be his holy people. {\cf2\super [8]} You are people that God loves.


That Scripture says “any person” because there is no difference between Jew and non-Jew. The same Lord is the Lord of all people. The Lord gives many blessings to all people that trust in him.


God makes people right through their faith in Jesus Christ. God does this for all people that believe in Christ. All people are the same.


We know that in everything God works for the good of those people that love him. These are the people God called (chose), because that was his plan.


It is God that has made you part of Christ Jesus. Christ has become wisdom for us from God. Christ is the reason we are right with God and have freedom from sin; Christ is the reason we are holy. {\cf2\super [10]}


All of you together are the body of Christ. Each one of you is a part of that body.


But for us there is only one God. He is our Father. All things came from him and we live for him. And there is only one Lord. He is Jesus Christ. All things were made through Jesus, and we also have life through him.


Greetings from Paul, an apostle {\cf2\super [1]} of Christ Jesus. I am an apostle because that is what God wanted.


We don’t tell people about ourselves. But we tell people that Jesus Christ is Lord; and we tell people that we are your servants for Jesus.


Greetings also from all those in God’s family who are with me.


He died to make the church holy. {\cf2\super [40]} Christ used the telling of the Good News {\cf2\super [41]} to make the church clean by washing it with water.


Greetings from Paul, Silas, and Timothy. To the church (group of believers) that lives in Thessalonica. That church is in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. \{God’s\} grace (kindness) and peace be yours.


God called us to be holy. He does not want us to live in sin.


Greetings from Paul, Silas, and Timothy. To the church (group of believers) that lives in Thessalonica. You people are in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.


I want men everywhere to pray. These men who lift up their hands in prayer must be pleasing to God. They must not be men who become angry and have arguments.


Then, even if I cannot come soon, you will know about the things that people must do in the family {\cf2\super [13]} of God. That family is the church of the living God. And God’s church is the support and foundation of the truth.


God saved us and made us his holy people. {\cf2\super [6]} That happened not because of anything we did ourselves. No! God saved us and made us his people because that was what he wanted and because of his grace (kindness). That grace was given to us through Christ Jesus before time began.


But God’s strong foundation {\cf2\super [14]} continues to be the same. These words are written on that foundation: “The Lord knows those people who belong to him.” {\cf2\super [15]} Also, these words are written on that foundation: “Every person who says that he believes in the Lord must stop doing wrong.”


Stay away from the evil things a young person wants to do. Try very hard to live right and to have faith, love, and peace. Do these things together with those people who have pure hearts and trust in the Lord.


Jesus Christ did the things God wanted him to do. And because of that, we are made holy through the sacrifice {\cf2\super [126]} of Christ’s body. Christ made that sacrifice one time—enough for all time.


So Jesus also suffered outside the city. Jesus died to make his people holy {\cf2\super [177]} with his own blood (death).


The One (Jesus) who makes people holy {\cf2\super [12]} and those people who are made holy are from the same family. So he (Jesus) is not ashamed to call those people his brothers and sisters.
