¹ Beautiful words fill my mind\par as I write these things for the king.\par Words come from my tongue like\par words coming from a skilled writer’s pen.\par

² You are more handsome than anyone!\par You are a very good speaker.\par So God will bless you forever!\par

³ Put your sword on.\par Put on your glorious uniform.\par

⁴ You look wonderful!\par Go and win the fight\par for goodness and fairness.\par Your powerful right arm\par was trained to do amazing things.\par

⁵ Your arrows are sharp,\par deep in the heart of your enemies,\par people will fall to the ground\par in front of you.\par

⁶ God, {\cf2\super [273]} your throne continues forever!\par Goodness is your royal scepter. {\cf2\super [274]} \par

⁷ You love goodness and you hate evil.\par So God, your God, chose you to be king\par over your friends. {\cf2\super [275]} \par

⁸ Your clothes smell like the sweet spices\par myrrh, aloes, and cassia.\par From here in palaces decorated with ivory,\par comes music to entertain you.\par

⁹ The bridesmaids are the daughters of kings.\par Your bride {\cf2\super [276]} stands at your right side,\par wearing a crown of pure gold.\par

¹⁰ My lady, {\cf2\super [277]} listen to me.\par Listen carefully and you will understand.\par Forget your people and your father’s family,\par

¹¹ so the king will be pleased with your beauty.\par He will be your new husband. {\cf2\super [278]} \par So you must honor him.\par

¹² Wealthy people from Tyre\par will bring gifts to you\par so they might meet with you.\par

¹³ The princess in her gown\par made with threads of pure gold\par \{is like a pearl in a gold setting\}.\par

¹⁴ The bride in her beautiful clothes,\par is led to the king,\par her bridesmaids following behind her.\par

¹⁵ They come filled with happiness.\par Filled with happiness,\par they enter the king’s palace.\par

¹⁶ \{King,\} your sons will rule after you.\par You will make them rulers throughout the land.\par

¹⁷ I will make your name famous forever.\par People will praise you forever and ever!\par
