"HE HAS BLINDEDTHEIR EYESAND HE HARDENEDTHEIR HEART,SOTHAT THEY WOULD NOT SEEWITH THEIR EYESAND PERCEIVEWITH THEIR HEART,AND BE CONVERTEDAND I HEALTHEM."
"The LORDsaid,'Whowill enticeAhabto goup and fallat Ramoth-gilead?'And onesaidthiswhile anothersaidthat.
He healsthe brokenheartedAnd bindsup their wounds.
As for me, I said,"O LORD,be graciousto me; Healmy soul,for I have sinnedagainst You."
Be graciousto me, O LORD,for I [am] piningaway;Healme, O LORD,for my bonesare dismayed.
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Goto Pharaoh,for I have hardenedhis heartand the heartof his servants,that I may performthesesignsof Mine amongthem,
Mosesand AaronperformedallthesewondersbeforePharaoh;yet the LORDhardenedPharaoh'sheart,and he did not letthe sonsof Israelgoout of his land.
"As for Me, behold,I will hardenthe heartsof the Egyptiansso that they will goin afterthem; and I will be honoredthrough Pharaohand allhis army,through his chariotsand his horsemen.
"Thus I will hardenPharaoh'sheart,and he will chaseafterthem; and I will be honoredthrough Pharaohand allhis army,and the Egyptianswill knowthat I am the LORD."And they didso.
The LORDhardenedthe heartof Pharaoh,kingof Egypt,and he chasedafterthe sonsof Israelas the sonsof Israelwere goingout boldly.
The LORDsaidto Moses,"When you gobackto Egyptseethat you performbeforePharaohallthe wonderswhichI have putin your power;but I will hardenhis heartso that he will not letthe peoplego.
Yet Pharaoh'sheartwas hardened,and he did not listento them, as the LORDhad said.
"But I will hardenPharaoh'sheartthat I may multiplyMy signsand My wondersin the landof Egypt.
And the LORDhardenedPharaoh'sheart,and he did not listento them, justas the LORDhad spokento Moses.
O LORD,Your handis liftedup [yet] they do not seeit. They see[Your] zealfor the peopleand are putto shame;Indeed,firewill devourYour enemies.
For the LORDhas pouredoveryou a spiritof deepsleep,He has shutyour eyes,the prophets;And He has coveredyour heads,the seers.
But He was piercedthroughfor our transgressions,He was crushedfor our iniquities;The chasteningfor our well-being[fell] upon Him, And by His scourgingwe are healed.
"Renderthe heartsof thispeopleinsensitive,Their earsdull,And their eyesdim,Otherwisethey might seewith their eyes,Hearwith their ears,Understandwith their hearts,And returnand be healed."
He said,"Go,and tellthispeople:'Keepon listening,but do not perceive;Keepon looking,but do not understand.'
"Return,O faithlesssons,I will healyour faithlessness.""Behold,we cometo You; For You are the LORDour God.
Nowhearthis,O foolishand senselesspeople,Who have eyesbut do not see;Who have earsbut do not hear.
"Sonof man,you livein the midstof the rebellioushouse,whohave eyesto seebut do not see,earsto hearbut do not hear;for they are a rebellioushouse.
"But ifthe prophetis prevailedupon to speaka word,it is I, the LORD,who have prevailedupon that prophet,and I will stretchout My handagainsthim and destroyhim from amongMy peopleIsrael.
I will healtheir apostasy,I will lovethem freely,For My angerhas turnedawayfrom them.
"Come,let us returnto the LORD.For He has torn[us], but He will healus; He has wounded[us], but He will bandageus.
"Let them alone;they are blindguidesof the blind.And ifa blind manguidesa blind man,bothwill fallinto a pit."
sothat WHILE SEEING,THEY MAY SEEAND NOT PERCEIVE,AND WHILE HEARING,THEY MAY HEARAND NOT UNDERSTAND,OTHERWISETHEY MIGHT RETURNAND BE FORGIVEN."
for they had not gained any insightfrom the [incident of] the loaves,but their heartwas hardened.
"THE SPIRITOF THE LORDIS UPON ME, BECAUSEHE ANOINTEDME TO PREACH THE GOSPELTO THE POOR.HE HAS SENTME TO PROCLAIMRELEASETO THE CAPTIVES,AND RECOVERY OF SIGHTTO THE BLIND,TO SETFREETHOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED,
And He said,"To you it has been grantedto knowthe mysteriesof the kingdomof God,but to the rest[it is] in parables,sothat SEEINGTHEY MAY NOT SEE,AND HEARINGTHEY MAY NOT UNDERSTAND.
For thisreasonthey couldnot believe,for Isaiahsaidagain,
And Jesussaid,"For judgmentI cameinto thisworld,sothat thosewho do not seemay see,and that thosewho seemay becomeblind."
Therefore,being sent on their wayby the church,they were passing throughbothPhoeniciaand Samaria,describing in detailthe conversionof the Gentiles,and were bringinggreatjoyto allthe brethren.
saying,GOTO THISPEOPLEAND SAY,"YOU WILL KEEPON HEARING,BUT WILL NOT UNDERSTAND;AND YOU WILL KEEPON SEEING,BUT WILL NOT PERCEIVE;
"Thereforerepentand return,sothat your sinsmay be wiped away,in orderthat timesof refreshingmay comefrom the presenceof the Lord;
So thenHe has mercyon whomHe desires,and He hardenswhomHe desires.
"Yet to thisdaythe LORDhas not givenyou a heartto know,noreyesto see,norearsto hear.
For it was of the LORDto hardentheir hearts,to meetIsraelin battlein orderthat he might utterlydestroythem, that they might receivenomercy,but that he might destroythem, justas the LORDhad commandedMoses.
