Then he broughtthe king'ssonout and putthe crownon him and [gave him] the testimony;and they madehim kingand anointedhim, and they clappedtheir handsand said,"[Long] livethe king!"
"So I stoodbesidehim and killedhim, becauseI knewthat he could not liveafterhe had fallen.And I tookthe crownwhich[was] on his headand the braceletwhich[was] on his arm,and I have broughtthem hereto my lord."
Then he tookthe crownof their kingfrom his head;and its weight[was] a talentof gold,and [in it] [was] a preciousstone;and it was [placed] on David'shead.And he broughtout the spoilof the cityin greatamounts.
Now it cameabout whenHushaithe Archite,David'sfriend,cameto Absalom,that Hushaisaidto Absalom,"[Long] livethe king![Long] livethe king!"
Then the menof Judahcameand thereanointedDavidkingoverthe houseof Judah.And they toldDavid,saying,"It was the menof Jabesh-gileadwhoburiedSaul."
"Nowtherefore, let your handsbe strongand be valiant;for Saulyour lordis dead,and alsothe houseof Judahhas anointedme kingoverthem."
So allthe eldersof Israelcameto the kingat Hebron,and KingDavidmadea covenantwith them beforethe LORDat Hebron;then they anointedDavidkingoverIsrael.
"For he has gonedowntodayand has sacrificedoxenand fatlingsand sheepin abundance,and has invitedallthe king'ssonsand the commandersof the armyand Abiatharthe priest,and behold,they are eatingand drinkingbeforehim; and they say,[Long] liveKingAdonijah!'
"Let Zadokthe priestand Nathanthe prophetanointhim thereas kingoverIsrael,and blowthe trumpetand say,[Long] liveKingSolomon!'
Zadokthe priestthen tookthe hornof oilfrom the tentand anointedSolomon.Then they blewthe trumpet,and allthe peoplesaid,"[Long] liveKingSolomon!"
The kingalso saidto Shimei,"You knowallthe evilwhichyou acknowledgein your heart,whichyou didto my fatherDavid;therefore the LORDshall returnyour evilon your own head.
The guardsstoodeachwith his weaponsin his hand,from the rightsideof the houseto the leftsideof the house,by the altarand by the house,aroundthe king.
But Jehosheba,the daughterof KingJoram,sisterof Ahaziah,tookJoashthe sonof Ahaziahand stolehim from amongthe king'ssonswho were being putto death,and placedhim and his nursein the bedroom.So they hidhim from Athaliah,and he was not putto death.
Now in the seventhyearJehoiadasentand broughtthe captainsof hundredsof the Caritesand of the guard,and broughtthem to him in the houseof the LORD.Then he madea covenantwith them and putthem underoathin the houseof the LORD,and showedthem the king'sson.
Then they hurriedand eachmantookhis garmentand placedit underhim on the baresteps,and blewthe trumpet,saying,"Jehuis king!"
"Then takethe flaskof oiland pourit on his headand say,'Thussaysthe LORD,"I have anointedyou kingoverIsrael."'Then openthe doorand fleeand do not wait."
Then they broughtout the king'ssonand putthe crownon him, and [gave him] the testimonyand madehim king.And Jehoiadaand his sonsanointedhim and said,"[Long] livethe king!"
The kinglovedEsthermorethanallthe women,and she foundfavorand kindnesswith him morethanallthe virgins,so that he setthe royalcrownon her headand madeher queeninsteadof Vashti.
let them bringa royalrobewhichthe kinghas worn,and the horseon whichthe kinghas ridden,and on whoseheada royalcrownhas been placed;
"His enemiesI will clothewith shame,But upon himself his crownshall shine."
For You meethim with the blessingsof goodthings;You seta crownof finegoldon his head.
He askedlifeof You, You gaveit to him, Lengthof daysforeverand ever.
O clapyour hands,allpeoples;Shoutto Godwith the voiceof joy.
For He establisheda testimonyin JacobAnd appointeda lawin Israel,WhichHe commandedour fathersThat they should teachthem to their children,
You have spurnedthe covenantof Your servant;You have profanedhis crownin the dust.
Let the riversclaptheir hands,Let the mountainssingtogetherfor joy
"You shall putinto the arkthe testimonywhichI shall giveyou.
When He had finishedspeakingwith him upon MountSinai,He gaveMosesthe twotabletsof the testimony,tabletsof stone,writtenby the fingerof God.
"For you will goout with joyAnd be ledforthwith peace;The mountainsand the hillswill breakforthinto shoutsof joybeforeyou, And allthe treesof the fieldwill clap[their] hands.
Bindup the testimony,sealthe lawamong my disciples.
To the lawand to the testimony!Ifthey do not speakaccording to thisword,it is becausethey havenodawn.
The breathof our nostrils,the LORD'Sanointed,Was capturedin their pits,Of whomwe had said,"Under his shadowWe shall liveamong the nations."
They respondedand saidto Nebuchadnezzarthe king:"O king,liveforever!
ThenDanielspoketo the king,"O king,liveforever!
The crowdsgoing aheadof Him, and thosewho followed,were shouting,"Hosannato the Sonof David;BLESSEDIS HE WHO COMESIN THE NAMEOF THE LORD;Hosannain the highest!"
And after twistingtogether a crownof thorns,they putit on His head,and a reedin His right hand;and they knelt downbeforeHim and mockedHim, saying,"Hail,Kingof the Jews!"
"For trulyin thiscitythere were gathered togetheragainstYour holyservantJesus,whomYou anointed,bothHerodand PontiusPilate,alongwith the Gentilesand the peoplesof Israel,
NowHe who establishesus with you in Christand anointedus is God,
"YOU HAVE LOVEDRIGHTEOUSNESSAND HATEDLAWLESSNESS;THEREFOREGOD,YOUR GOD,HAS ANOINTEDYOU WITH THE OILOF GLADNESSABOVEYOUR COMPANIONS."
But we do seeHim who was madefor a little whilelowerthanthe angels,[namely], Jesus,becauseof the sufferingof deathcrownedwith gloryand honor,sothat by the graceof GodHe might tastedeathfor everyone.
His eyes[are] a flameof fire,and on His head[are] manydiadems;and He hasa namewritten[on Him] whichno oneknowsexceptHimself.
Then Samueltookthe flaskof oil,pouredit on his head,kissedhim and said,"Has not the LORDanointedyou a ruleroverHis inheritance?
Samuelsaidto allthe people,"Do you seehim whomthe LORDhas chosen?Surelythereis noonelikehim among allthe people."So allthe peopleshoutedand said,"[Long] livethe king!"
Then Samueltookthe hornof oiland anointedhim in the midstof his brothers;and the Spiritof the LORDcamemightilyupon Davidfrom that dayforward.And Samuelaroseand wentto Ramah.
