And it came to be when Aḇram was ninety-nine years old, that יהוה appeared to Aḇram and said to him, “I am Ěl Shaddai – walk before Me and be perfect.
And she hurried and emptied her jar into the trough, ran back to the fountain to draw water, and drew for all his camels.
“But he said to me, ‘יהוה, before whom I walk, sends His messenger with you and shall prosper your way. And you shall take a wife for my son from my relatives and from my father’s house.
And he came near and kissed him. And he smelled the smell of his garments, and blessed him and said, “See, the smell of my son is like the smell of a field which יהוה has blessed.
“And make me a tasty dish, such as I love, and bring it to me to eat, in order that my being does bless you before I die.”
And Ya‛aqoḇ made a vow, saying, “Seeing Elohim is with me, and has kept me in this way that I am going, and has given me bread to eat and a garment to put on –
then this stone which I have set as a standing column shall be Elohim’s house, and of all that You give me, I shall certainly give a tenth to You.”
And Ěl Shaddai bless you, and make you fruitful and increase you, and you shall become an assembly of peoples,”
And let us arise and go up to Bĕyth Ěl, and let me make there a slaughter-place to Ěl, who answered me in the day of my distress, and has been with me in the way which I have gone.
the Messenger who has redeemed me from all evil – bless the youths! And let my name be called upon them, and the name of my fathers Aḇraham and Yitsḥaq. And let them increase to a multitude in the midst of the earth.”
“Yosĕph is an offshoot of a fruit-bearing tree, an offshoot of a fruit-bearing tree by a fountain, his branches run over a wall.
But his bow remained in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the Mighty One of Ya‛aqoḇ – from there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Yisra’ĕl - ”
All these are the twelve tribes of Yisra’ĕl, and this is what their father spoke to them. And he blessed them, he blessed each one according to his own blessing.
This is the genealogy of Noaḥ. Noaḥ was a righteous man, perfect in his generations. Noaḥ walked with Elohim.
And Shelomoh said, “You have shown great loving-commitment to your servant Dawiḏ my father, as he walked before You in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You. And You have guarded for him this great loving-commitment, and did give him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
As for the sons of Re’uḇĕn the first-born of Yisra’ĕl – he was the first-born, but because he profaned his father’s bed, his birthright was given to the sons of Yosĕph, son of Yisra’ĕl, so that the genealogy is not listed according to the birthright,
I have set יהוה always before me; Because He is at my right hand I am not shaken.
Bĕt Trust in יהוה, and do good; Dwell in the earth, and feed on steadfastness.
Go, and you shall gather the elders of Yisra’ĕl together, and say to them, ‘יהוה Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Aḇraham, of Yitsḥaq, and of Ya‛aqoḇ, appeared to me, saying, I have indeed visited you and seen what is done to you in Mitsrayim;
so that they believe that יהוה Elohim of their fathers, the Elohim of Aḇraham, the Elohim of Yitsḥaq, and the Elohim of Ya‛aqoḇ, has appeared to you.”
Sweet is the sleep of a labourer whether he eats little or much, but the plenty of the rich does not let him sleep.
See what I have seen: It is good and beautiful for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which Elohim gives him, for it is his portion.
All the labour of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not satisfied.
and your ears hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the Way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right, or whenever you turn to the left.
he shall inhabit the heights; strongholds of rocks be his refuge. His bread shall be given him, his water be steadfast.
and shall spread them before the sun and the moon and all the host of the heavens, which they have loved and which they have served and after which they have walked, which they have sought, and to which they have bowed themselves. They shall not be gathered nor buried, they shall be for dung on the face of the earth.
And they were both righteous before Elohim, blamelessly walking in all the commands and righteousnesses of יהוה.
Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the esteem of Elohim.
For our boasting is this: the witness of our conscience that we behaved ourselves in the world in simplicity and sincerity of Elohim, not in fleshly wisdom but in the favour of Elohim, and much more toward you.
And this is the blessing with which Mosheh the man of Elohim blessed the children of Yisra’ĕl before his death.
that you would walk worthily of Elohim who is calling you into His own reign and esteem.
By belief, Ya‛aqoḇ, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Yosĕph, and did reverence on the top of his staff.
