He said, Why will you go to him today? it is neither new moon nor Shabbat. She said, It shall be well.


David spoke to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brothers the singers, with instruments of music, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding aloud and lifting up the voice with joy.


So the singers, Heman, Asaf, and Etan, [were appointed] with cymbals of brass to sound aloud;


Shevanyah, and Yoshafat, and Netan'el 1, and `Amasai, and Zekharyah, and Benayah, and Eli`ezer, the Kohanim, did blow the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obed-Edom and Yechiyah were doorkeepers for the ark.


and with them Heman and Yedutun [with] trumpets and cymbals for those that should sound aloud, and [with] instruments for the songs of God; and the sons of Yedutun to be at the gate.


and Benayah and Yachazi'el the Kohanim with trumpets continually, before the ark of the covenant of God.


Moreover, David and the captains of the army set apart for the service certain of the sons of Asaf, and of Heman, and of Yedutun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of those who did the work according to their service was:


Behold, God is with us at our head, and his Kohanim with the trumpets of alarm to sound an alarm against you. Children of Yisra'el, don't you fight against the LORD, the God of your fathers; for you shall not prosper.


When Yehudah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind them; and they cried to the LORD, and the Kohanim sounded with the trumpets.


Behold, I am about to build a house for the name of the LORD my God, to dedicate it to him, and to burn before him incense of sweet spices, and for the continual show bread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the Shabbatot, and on the new moons, and on the set feasts of the LORD our God. This is [an ordinance] forever to Yisra'el.


also the Levites who were the singers, all of them, even Asaf, Heman, Yedutun, and their sons and their brothers, arrayed in fine linen, with cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them one hundred twenty Kohanim sounding with trumpets;)


even as the duty of every day required, offering according to the mitzvah of Moshe, on the Shabbatot, and on the new moons, and on the set feasts, three times in the year, [even] in the feast of matzah, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of booths.


Let them praise his name in the dance! Let them sing praises to him with tambourine and harp!


Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre. Sing praises to him with the harp of ten strings.


With trumpets and sound of the ram's horn, make a joyful noise before the King, the LORD.


He has violently taken away his tent, as if it were of a garden; he has destroyed his place of assembly: The LORD has caused solemn assembly and Shabbat to be forgotten in Tziyon, Has despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the Kohen.


Behold, on the mountains the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes shalom! Keep your feasts, Yehudah! Perform your vows, for the wicked one will no more pass through you. He is utterly cut off.


and will make an offering by fire to the LORD, a burnt offering, or a sacrifice, to accomplish a vow, or as a freewill offering, or in your set feasts, to make a sweet savor to the LORD, of the herd, or of the flock;


In the beginnings of your months you shall offer a burnt offering to the LORD: two young bulls, and one ram, seven male lambs a year old without blemish;


Seven days shall you keep a feast to the LORD your God in the place which the LORD shall choose; because the LORD your God will bless you in all your increase, and in all the work of your hands, and you shall be altogether joyful.


Let no man therefore judge you in eating, or in drinking, or with respect to a feast day or a new moon or Shabbat,
