David and all Yisra'el played before God with all their might, even with songs, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.


and said to them, You are the heads of the fathers' [houses] of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both you and your brothers, that you may bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, to [the place] that I have prepared for it.


and with them Heman and Yedutun [with] trumpets and cymbals for those that should sound aloud, and [with] instruments for the songs of God; and the sons of Yedutun to be at the gate.


Asaf the chief, and second to him Zekharyah, Ye`i'el, and Shemiramot, and Yechi'el, and Mattityah, and Eli'av, and Benayah, and Obed-Edom, and Ye`i'el, with psalteries and with harps; and Asaf with cymbals, sounding aloud;


and four thousand were doorkeepers; and four thousand praised the LORD with the instruments which I made, [said David], for giving praise.


The sons of Levi: Gershom, Kehat, and Merari.


The Levites, of the children of the Kehati and of the children of the Korchi, stood up to praise the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, with an exceeding loud voice.


Also on Yehudah came the hand of God to give them one heart, to do the mitzvah of the king and of the princes by the word of the LORD.


also the Levites who were the singers, all of them, even Asaf, Heman, Yedutun, and their sons and their brothers, arrayed in fine linen, with cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them one hundred twenty Kohanim sounding with trumpets;)


it happened, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, [saying], For he is good; for his loving kindness endures forever; that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD,


The Kohanim stood, according to their offices; the Levites also with instruments of music of the LORD, which David the king had made to give thanks to the LORD, (for his loving kindness endures for ever), when David praised by their ministry: and the Kohanim sounded trumpets before them; and all Yisra'el stood.


At the dedication of the wall of Yerushalayim they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Yerushalayim, to keep the dedication with gladness, both with giving thanks, and with singing, with cymbals, psalteries, and with harps.


and his brothers, Shemayah, and `Azar'el, Milalai, Gilalai, Ma`ai, Netan'el 1, and Yehudah, Chanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God; and Ezra the scribe was before them.


They offered great sacrifices that day, and rejoiced; for God had made them rejoice with great joy; and the women also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Yerushalayim was heard even afar off.


For in the days of David and Asaf of old there was a chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.


Let them praise his name in the dance! Let them sing praises to him with tambourine and harp!


Praise him with loud cymbals! Praise him with resounding cymbals!


Blow the shofar at the New Moon, at the full moon, on our feast day.


Those who sing as well as those who dance say, *All my springs are in you.*


Oh come, let's sing to the LORD. Let's shout aloud to the rock of our salvation!


Miryam the prophetess, the sister of Aharon, took a tambourine in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.


Kings shall be your nursing fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers: they shall bow down to you with their faces to the earth, and lick the dust of your feet; and you shall know that I am the LORD; and those who wait for me shall not be disappointed.


the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who say, Give thanks to the LORD of Armies, for the LORD is good, for his loving kindness endures forever; [and of them] who bring [sacrifices of] thanksgiving into the house of the LORD. For I will cause the captivity of the land to return as at the first, says the LORD.


who strum on the strings of a harp; who invent for themselves instruments of music, like David;


When they had appointed elders for them in every assembly, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they had believed.


The things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.


I left you in Crete for this reason, that you would set in order the things that were lacking, and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you;
