"For in a verylittlewhileMy indignation[against you] will be spentand My anger[will be directed] to their destruction."
Come,my people,enterinto your roomsAnd closeyour doorsbehindyou; Hidefor a littlewhileUntilindignationruns[its] course.
Whois among you that fearsthe LORD,That obeysthe voiceof His servant,That walksin darknessand hasnolight?Let him trustin the nameof the LORDand relyon his God.
"Unlessthosedayshad been cutshort,nolifewould have been saved;but for the sakeof the electthosedayswill be cut short.
"O Jerusalem,Jerusalem,[the city] that killsthe prophetsand stonesthosesentto her! How oftenI wantedto gatheryour childrentogether,justas a hen[gathers] her broodunderher wings,and you wouldnot [have it]!
"Truly,truly,I sayto you, that you will weepand lament,but the worldwill rejoice;you will grieve,but your griefwill be turnedinto joy.
"I prayedto the LORDand said,'O LordGOD,do not destroyYour people,even Your inheritance,whomYou have redeemedthrough Your greatness,whomYou have broughtout of Egyptwith a mightyhand.
and He will wipe awayeverytearfrom their eyes;and there will nolongerbe [any] death;there will nolongerbe [any] mourning,orcrying,orpain;the first thingshave passed away."
I saidto him, "My lord,you know."And he saidto me, "Theseare the ones who comeout of the greattribulation,and they have washedtheir robesand made them whitein the bloodof the Lamb.
"May the LORDrewardyour work,and your wagesbe fullfrom the LORD,the Godof Israel,underwhosewingsyou have cometo seekrefuge."
So Daviddepartedfrom thereand escapedto the caveof Adullam;and when his brothersand allhis father'shouseholdheard[of it], they wentdownthereto him.
He cameto the sheepfoldson the way,wherethere[was] a cave;and Saulwentin to relievehimself. Now Davidand his menwere sittingin the innerrecessesof the cave.
The menof Davidsaidto him, "Behold,[this is] the dayof whichthe LORDsaidto you, 'Behold;I am about to giveyour enemyinto your hand,and you shall doto him as it seemsgoodto you.'" Then Davidaroseand cutoffthe edgeof Saul'srobesecretly.
Now afterwardDavidaroseand wentout of the caveand calledafterSaul,saying,"My lordthe king!"And when Saullookedbehindhim, Davidbowedwith his faceto the groundand prostratedhimself.
But Davidsaidto Abishai,"Do not destroyhim, for whocan stretchout his handagainst the LORD'Sanointedand be withoutguilt?"
