The remnantof JacobWill be among the nations,AmongmanypeoplesLike a lionamong the beastsof the forest,Like a younglionamong flocksof sheep,Which,ifhe passesthrough,Tramplesdownand tears,And thereis noneto rescue.
"Judahis a lion'swhelp;From the prey,my son,you have goneup. He couches,he liesdownas a lion,And as a lion,whodares rousehim up?
You appointdarknessand it becomesnight,In which allthe beastsof the forestprowlabout.
Through You we will pushbackour adversaries;Through Your namewe will trampledownthose who riseup against us.
"Nowconsiderthis,you who forgetGod,OrI will tear[you] in pieces, and therewill be noneto deliver.
The lion[which] is mightyamong beastsAnd does not retreatbeforeany,
Its roaringis like a lioness,and it roarslike younglions;It growlsas it seizesthe preyAnd carries[it] offwith nooneto deliver[it].
"They will not takewoodfrom the fieldor gatherfirewoodfrom the forests,for they will makefireswith the weapons;and they will takethe spoilof those who despoiledthem and seizethe plunderof those who plunderedthem," declaresthe LordGOD.
For I [will be] like a lionto EphraimAnd like a younglionto the houseof Judah.I, even I, will tearto pieces and goaway, I will carryaway, and therewill be noneto deliver.
"I will surelyassembleallof you, Jacob,I will surelygatherthe remnantof Israel.I will putthem togetherlike sheepin the fold;Like a flockin the midstof its pastureThey will be noisywith men.
"Ariseand thresh,daughterof Zion,For your hornI will makeironAnd your hoofsI will makebronze,That you may pulverizemanypeoples,That you may devoteto the LORDtheir unjustgainAnd their wealthto the Lordof allthe earth.
"I will makethe lamea remnantAnd the outcastsa strongnation,And the LORDwill reignoverthem in MountZionFrom nowon and forever.
ThereforeHe will givethem [up] untilthe timeWhen she who is in laborhas bornea child. Then the remainderof His brethrenWill returnto the sonsof Israel.
Whois a GodlikeYou, who pardonsiniquityAnd passesoverthe rebelliousactof the remnantof His possession?He does not retainHis angerforever,BecauseHe delightsin unchanginglove.
"They will be as mightymen,Treadingdown[the enemy] in the mireof the streetsin battle;And they will fight,for the LORD[will be] with them; And the riderson horseswill be putto shame.
"For I will nolongerhavepityon the inhabitantsof the land,"declaresthe LORD;"but behold,I will cause the mento fall,eachinto another'spowerand into the powerof his king;and they will strikethe land,and I will not deliver[them] from their power."
"It will comeabout in that daythat I will makeJerusalema heavystonefor allthe peoples;allwho liftit will be severelyinjured.And allthe nationsof the earthwill be gatheredagainstit.
Ifthe familyof Egyptdoes not goup or enter,then no[rain will fall] on them; it will be the plaguewith whichthe LORDsmitesthe nationswhodo not goup to celebratethe Feastof Booths.
The LORDof hostswill defendthem. And they will devourand trampleon the slingstones;And they will drink[and] be boisterousas with wine;And they will be filledlike a [sacrificial] basin,[Drenched] like the cornersof the altar.
"You will treaddownthe wicked,for they will be ashesunderthe solesof your feeton the daywhichI am preparing,"saysthe LORDof hosts.
"He couches,he liesdownas a lion,And as a lion,whodares rousehim? Blessedis everyone who blessesyou, And cursedis everyone who cursesyou."
"Whoeverdoes not receiveyou, norheedyour words,as you goout of that houseorthat city,shakethe dustoffyour feet.
But when they resistedand blasphemed,he shookout his garmentsand saidto them, "Your blood[be] on your own heads!I am clean.From nowon I will goto the Gentiles."
Seeto it that you do not refuseHim who is speaking.For ifthosedid not escapewhen they refusedhim who warned[them] on earth,muchless[will] we [escape] who turn awayfrom Him who [warns] from heaven.
howwill we escapeif we neglectso greata salvation?Afterit was at the firstspokenthroughthe Lord,it was confirmedto us by thosewho heard,
