Perhapsthe LORDyour Godwill hearallthe wordsof Rabshakeh,whomhis masterthe kingof Assyriahas sentto reproachthe livingGod,and will rebukethe wordswhichthe LORDyour Godhas heard.Therefore, offera prayerfor the remnantthat is left.'"
He also wrotelettersto insultthe LORDGodof Israel,and to speakagainstHim, saying,"As the godsof the nationsof the landshave not deliveredtheir peoplefrom my hand,sothe Godof Hezekiahwill not deliverHis peoplefrom my hand."
Becauseof the voiceof him who reproachesand reviles,Becauseof the presenceof the enemyand the avenger.
They have settheir mouthagainst the heavens,And their tongueparadesthrough the earth.
Howlong,O God,will the adversaryrevile,[And] the enemyspurnYour nameforever?
Rememberthis,O LORD,that the enemyhas reviled,And a foolishpeoplehas spurnedYour name.
Do not forgetthe voiceof Your adversaries,The uproarof those who riseagainst You which ascendscontinually.
"Whois likeYou among the gods,O LORD?Whois likeYou, majesticin holiness,Awesomein praises,workingwonders?
But Pharaohsaid,"Whois the LORDthat I should obeyHis voiceto letIsraelgo?I do not knowthe LORD,and besides,I will not letIsraelgo."
"Stillyou exaltyourself against My peopleby not lettingthem go.
There is a kind--oh howloftyare his eyes!And his eyelidsare raised[in arrogance].
So it will be that whenthe Lordhas completedallHis workon MountZionand on Jerusalem,[He will say], "I will punishthe fruitof the arrogantheartof the kingof Assyriaand the pompof his haughtiness."
And the lightof Israelwill becomea fireand his HolyOnea flame,And it will burnand devourhis thornsand his briarsin a singleday.
Now in that daythe remnantof Israel,and those of the houseof Jacobwhohave escaped,will neveragainrelyon the one who struckthem, but will trulyrelyon the LORD,the HolyOneof Israel.
Cryaloudand shoutfor joy,O inhabitantof Zion,For greatin your midstis the HolyOneof Israel.
In that daymanwill haveregardfor his MakerAnd his eyeswill lookto the HolyOneof Israel.
The proudlookof manwill be abasedAnd the loftinessof manwill be humbled,And the LORDalonewill be exaltedin that day.

"You will winnowthem, and the windwill carrythem away, And the stormwill scatterthem; But you will rejoicein the LORD,You will gloryin the HolyOneof Israel.
Thussaysthe LORDyour Redeemer,the HolyOneof Israel,"For your sakeI have sentto Babylon,And will bringthem alldownas fugitives,Even the Chaldeans,into the shipsin which they rejoice.
"For I am the LORDyour God,The HolyOneof Israel,your Savior;I have givenEgyptas your ransom,Cushand Sebain your place.
So the [common] manwill be humbledand the manof [importance] abased,The eyesof the proudalso will be abased.
Woeto those whoare wisein their own eyesAnd cleverin their own sight!

Will you stillsay,"I am a god,"In the presenceof your slayer,Though you are a manand not God,In the handsof those who woundyou?
"And you have spokenarrogantlyagainstMe and have multipliedyour wordsagainstMe; I have heard[it]."
"My holynameI will makeknownin the midstof My peopleIsrael;and I will not let My holynamebe profanedanymore.And the nationswill knowthat I am the LORD,the HolyOnein Israel.
He will speakout againstthe MostHighand weardownthe saintsof the HighestOne,and he will intendto makealterationsin timesand in law;and they will be giveninto his handfor a time,times,and halfa time.
It evenmagnified[itself] to be equalwith the Commanderof the host;and it removedthe regularsacrificefrom Him, and the placeof His sanctuarywas throwndown.
who opposesand exaltshimself aboveeveryso-calledgodorobject of worship,sothat he takes his seatin the templeof God,displayinghimselfas beingGod.
Then Davidspoketo the menwho were standingby him, saying,"Whatwill be donefor the manwhokillsthisPhilistineand takesawaythe reproachfrom Israel?For whois thisuncircumcisedPhilistine,that he should tauntthe armiesof the livingGod?"
"Your servanthas killedboththe lionand the bear;and thisuncircumcisedPhilistinewill be like oneof them, sincehe has tauntedthe armiesof the livingGod."
