The proudcrownof the drunkardsof Ephraimis troddenunder foot.
"The footwill trampleit, The feetof the afflicted,the stepsof the helpless."
"Leaveout the courtwhich is outsidethe templeand do not measureit, for it has been givento the nations;and they will tread under footthe holycityfor forty-twomonths.
How muchsevererpunishmentdo you thinkhe will deservewho has trampled under footthe Sonof God,and has regardedas uncleanthe bloodof the covenantby whichhe was sanctified,and has insultedthe Spiritof grace?
Then I hearda holyonespeaking,and anotherholyonesaidto that particularonewho was speaking,"Howlongwill the vision[about] the regularsacrificeapply, while the transgressioncauseshorror,so as to allowboth the holyplace and the hostto be trampled?"
Woeto the proudcrownof the drunkardsof Ephraim,And to the fadingflowerof its gloriousbeauty,Whichis at the headof the fertilevalleyOf those who are overcomewith wine!
He said,"Throwher down."So they threwher down,and someof her bloodwas sprinkledon the walland on the horses,and he trampledher under foot.
"The Lordhas rejectedallmy strongmenIn my midst;He has calledan appointedtimeagainstme To crushmy youngmen;The Lordhas trodden[as in] a winepressThe virgindaughterof Judah.
For the handof the LORDwill reston thismountain,And Moabwill be troddendownin his placeAs strawis troddendownin the waterof a manurepile.
Woeto those who riseearlyin the morningthat they may pursuestrongdrink,Who stayup latein the eveningthat winemay inflamethem!
And allthe peopleknow[it], [That is], Ephraimand the inhabitantsof Samaria,Assertingin prideand in arroganceof heart:
"Your covenantwith deathwill be canceled,And your pactwith Sheolwill not stand;Whenthe overwhelmingscourgepassesthrough,Then you becomeits trampling[place].
"I have troddenthe winetroughalone,And from the peoplestherewas nomanwith Me. I also trodthem in My angerAnd trampledthem in My wrath;And their lifebloodis sprinkledon My garments,And I stainedallMy raiment.
