"Thus you will knowthat I am the LORD;for you have not walkedin My statutesnorhave you executedMy ordinances,but have actedaccording to the ordinancesof the nationsaroundyou."'"
becausethey have forsakenMe, and have worshipedAshtoreththe goddessof the Sidonians,Chemoshthe godof Moab,and Milcomthe godof the sonsof Ammon;and they have not walkedin My ways,doingwhatis rightin My sightand [observing] My statutesand My ordinances,as his fatherDavid[did].
But he walkedin the wayof the kingsof Israel,and evenmade his sonpassthrough the fire,according to the abominationsof the nationswhomthe LORDhad drivenout from beforethe sonsof Israel.
becausethey did not obeythe voiceof the LORDtheir God,but transgressedHis covenant,[even] allthat Mosesthe servantof the LORDcommanded;they would neitherlistennordo[it].
He didevilin the sightof the LORD,according to the abominationsof the nationswhomthe LORDdispossessedbeforethe sonsof Israel.
So he forsookthe LORD,the Godof his fathers,and did not walkin the wayof the LORD.
But they did not listen,and Manassehseducedthem to doevilmorethanthe nationswhomthe LORDdestroyedbeforethe sonsof Israel.
"Have you not drivenout the priestsof the LORD,the sonsof Aaronand the Levites,and madefor yourselves priestslike the peoplesof [other] lands?Whoevercomesto consecratehimselfwith a youngbulland sevenrams,even he may becomea priestof [what are] nogods.
Moreover, he burnedincensein the valleyof Ben-hinnomand burnedhis sonsin fire,according to the abominationsof the nationswhomthe LORDhad drivenout beforethe sonsof Israel.
Furthermore,allthe officialsof the priestsand the peoplewere veryunfaithful[following] allthe abominationsof the nations;and they defiledthe houseof the LORDwhichHe had sanctifiedin Jerusalem.
"Sincethe daysof our fathersto thisdaywe [have been] in greatguilt,and on account of our iniquitieswe, our kings[and] our priestshave been giveninto the handof the kingsof the lands,to the sword,to captivityand to plunderand to openshame,as [it is] thisday.
"However, You are justin allthat has comeupon us; For You have dealtfaithfully,but we have actedwickedly.
"For our kings,our leaders,our priestsand our fathershave not keptYour lawOr paidattentionto Your commandmentsand Your admonitionswith whichYou have admonishedthem.
They did not keepthe covenantof GodAnd refusedto walkin His law;
Thussaysthe LORD,"Do not learnthe wayof the nations,And do not be terrifiedby the signsof the heavensAlthoughthe nationsare terrifiedby them;
Thussaysthe LORD,"Standby the waysand seeand askfor the ancientpaths,Wherethe goodwayis, and walkin it; And you will findrestfor your souls.But they said,'We will not walk[in it].'
"But as for those whose heartsgoafter their detestablethingsand abominations,I will bringtheir conductdownon their heads,"declaresthe LordGOD.
if he does not lend[money] on interestor takeincrease,[if] he keepshis handfrom iniquity[and] executestrue~justicebetweenmanand man,
[if] he walksin My statutesand My ordinancesso as to dealfaithfully--he is righteous[and] will surelylive,"declaresthe LordGOD.
becausethey rejectedMy ordinances,and as for My statutes,they did not walkin them; they even profanedMy sabbaths,for their heartcontinually wentaftertheir idols.
"But the childrenrebelledagainst Me; they did not walkin My statutes,norwere they carefulto observeMy ordinances,by which,[if] a manobservesthem, he will live;they profanedMy sabbaths.So I resolvedto pourout My wrathon them, to accomplishMy angeragainst them in the wilderness.
becausethey had not observedMy ordinances,but had rejectedMy statutesand had profanedMy sabbaths,and their eyeswere on the idolsof their fathers.
But she has rebelledagainstMy ordinancesmorewickedlythanthe nationsand againstMy statutesmorethanthe landswhichsurroundher; for they have rejectedMy ordinancesand have not walkedin My statutes.'
So I enteredand looked,and behold,everyformof creepingthingsand beasts[and] detestablethings,with allthe idolsof the houseof Israel,were carvedon the wallallaround.
Then He broughtme to the entranceof the gateof the LORD'Shousewhich[was] towardthe north;and behold,womenwere sittingthereweepingfor Tammuz.
Then He broughtme into the innercourtof the LORD'Shouse.And behold,at the entranceto the templeof the LORD,betweenthe porchand the altar,[were] about twenty-fivemenwith their backsto the templeof the LORDand their facestoward the east;and they were prostratingthemselves eastwardtoward the sun.
norhave we obeyedthe voiceof the LORDour God,to walkin His teachingswhichHe setbeforeus throughHis servantsthe prophets.
You shall not dowhatis donein the landof Egyptwhereyou lived,norare you to dowhatis donein the landof CanaanwhereI am bringingyou; you shall not walkin their statutes.
If they confesstheir iniquityand the iniquityof their forefathers,in their unfaithfulnesswhichthey committedagainst Me, and alsoin their actingwith hostilityagainstMe--
