VERSES ABOUT PETITIONS

Let's bring all those requests to God in prayer. Psalm 37:4 says, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." God tells us that if we come to Him and pray according to His will, He will hear us. And when He hears us, we'll know we have the answer we've asked for.

One of God's most beautiful promises is found in Psalm 37. When you pray, focus on God, not your problems. Talk to Him, trusting that He hears you and knowing that His power is over everything. This way, you acknowledge God as the center of your life, and your prayer will be heard.

Even if it feels like God isn't listening, never stop praying. Sometimes, God becomes a shoulder to cry on, not necessarily to take away our problems, but for us to vent. Our prayers can be filled with complaints, anger, even rage, but we rarely tell God that we trust Him, that He knows our problems and can fix them.

Your Heavenly Father loves you, and in His time, He will answer those requests. Remember, God's timing is perfect. You can find many verses in the Bible about bringing your requests to God. Read them and grow your faith every day. God bless you.

John 14:1-3

“Do not let your hearts be distressed. You believe in God; believe also in me.

Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you, I do not speak on my own initiative, but the Father residing in me performs his miraculous deeds.

Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me, but if you do not believe me, believe because of the miraculous deeds themselves.

I tell you the solemn truth, the person who believes in me will perform the miraculous deeds that I am doing, and will perform greater deeds than these, because I am going to the Father.

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

“If you love me, you will obey my commandments.

Then I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you forever –

the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot accept, because it does not see him or know him. But you know him, because he resides with you and will be in you.

“I will not abandon you as orphans, I will come to you.

In a little while the world will not see me any longer, but you will see me; because I live, you will live too.

There are many dwelling places in my Father’s house. Otherwise, I would have told you, because I am going away to make ready a place for you.

You will know at that time that I am in my Father and you are in me and I am in you.

The person who has my commandments and obeys them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will reveal myself to him.”

“Lord,” Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “what has happened that you are going to reveal yourself to us and not to the world?”

Jesus replied, “If anyone loves me, he will obey my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and take up residence with him.

The person who does not love me does not obey my words. And the word you hear is not mine, but the Father’s who sent me.

“I have spoken these things while staying with you.

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and will cause you to remember everything I said to you.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; I do not give it to you as the world does. Do not let your hearts be distressed or lacking in courage.

You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.

I have told you now before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe.

And if I go and make ready a place for you, I will come again and take you to be with me, so that where I am you may be too.

Isaiah 61:1-3

The spirit of the sovereign Lord is upon me, because the Lord has chosen me. He has commissioned me to encourage the poor, to help the brokenhearted, to decree the release of captives, and the freeing of prisoners,

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; I will be overjoyed because of my God. For he clothes me in garments of deliverance; he puts on me a robe symbolizing vindication. I look like a bridegroom when he wears a turban as a priest would; I look like a bride when she puts on her jewelry.

For just as the ground produces its crops and a garden yields its produce, so the sovereign Lord will cause deliverance to grow, and give his people reason to praise him in the sight of all the nations.

to announce the year when the Lord will show his favor, the day when our God will seek vengeance, to console all who mourn,

to strengthen those who mourn in Zion, by giving them a turban, instead of ashes, oil symbolizing joy, instead of mourning, a garment symbolizing praise, instead of discouragement. They will be called oaks of righteousness, trees planted by the Lord to reveal his splendor.

Prayer

My God, my King, You are the Alpha and the Omega! Father, You are the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. I bless You, I give You honor, glory, and praise, because You are good and Your greatness is beyond measure. Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray to You, the Almighty, the Creator of the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them. I acknowledge Your power and majesty. Your word says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I bring this prayer before You. Examine my heart, Lord, and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. I don't come to You trusting in my own righteousness, but in Your great mercies, which are eternal and forever. I claim Your promises over my life and my family this day. I believe what Your word says, that if we humble ourselves and seek Your face and turn from our wicked ways, then You will hear from heaven, and will forgive our sin and heal our land. I lift up my home, my children, my finances, my emotions, my health, everything. I lay all my desires, requests, longings, and worries before You, believing that You will answer because You are a covenant-keeping God who fulfills His promises. In Jesus' name, Amen.
