¹² H1121Yet the childrenH4519of ManassehH3201could[H8804] H3423not drive out[H8687] H5892the inhabitants of those citiesH3669; but the CanaanitesH2974would[H8686] H3427dwell[H8800] H776in that land.

¹³ H1121Yet it came to pass, when the childrenH3478of IsraelH2388were waxen strong[H8804] H5414, that they put[H8799] H3669the CanaanitesH4522to tributeH3423; but did not utterly[H8687] H3423drive them out[H8689] .

¹⁵ H3091And JoshuaH559answered[H8799] H7227them, If thou be a greatH5971peopleH5927, then get thee up[H8798] H3293to the woodH1254country, and cut down[H8765] H776for thyself there in the landH6522of the PerizzitesH7497and of the giantsH2022, if mountH669EphraimH213be too narrow[H8804]  for thee.

¹⁶ H1121And the childrenH3130of JosephH559said[H8799] H2022, The hillH4672is not enough[H8735] H3669for us: and all the CanaanitesH3427that dwell[H8802] H776in the landH6010of the valleyH7393have chariotsH1270of ironH1052, both they who are of BethsheanH1323and her townsH6010, and they who are of the valleyH3157of Jezreel.

¹⁷ H3091And JoshuaH559spake[H8799] H1004unto the houseH3130of JosephH669, even to EphraimH4519and to ManassehH559, saying[H8800] H7227, Thou art a greatH5971peopleH1419, and hast greatH3581powerH259: thou shalt not have oneH1486lot only :

¹⁸ H2022But the mountainH3293shall be thine; for it is a woodH1254, and thou shalt cut it down[H8765] H8444: and the outgoingsH3423of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out[H8686] H3669the CanaanitesH1270, though they have ironH7393chariotsH2389, and though they be strong.
