² H5414Oh that[H8799] H4057I had in the wildernessH4411a lodging placeH732of wayfaring men[H8802] H5800; that I might leave[H8799] H5971my peopleH3212, and go[H8799] H5003from them! for they be all adulterers[H8764] H6116, an assemblyH898of treacherous men[H8802] .

³ H1869And they bend[H8686] H3956their tonguesH7198like their bowH8267for liesH1396: but they are not valiant[H8804] H530for the truthH776upon the earthH3318; for they proceed[H8804] H7451from evilH7451to evilH3045, and they know[H8804] H5002not me, saith[H8803] H3068the LORD.

⁴ H8104Take ye heed[H8734] H376every oneH7453of his neighbourH982, and trust[H8799] H251ye not in any brotherH251: for every brotherH6117will utterly[H8800] H6117supplant[H8799] H7453, and every neighbourH1980will walk[H8799] H7400with slanders.

⁵ H2048And they will deceive[H8762] H376every oneH7453his neighbourH1696, and will not speak[H8762] H571the truthH3925: they have taught[H8765] H3956their tongueH1696to speak[H8763] H8267liesH3811, and weary[H8738] H5753themselves to commit iniquity[H8687] .

⁶ H3427Thine habitation[H8800] H8432is in the midstH4820of deceitH4820; through deceitH3985they refuse[H8765] H3045to know[H8800] H5002me, saith[H8803] H3068the LORD.

⁷ H559Therefore thus saith[H8804] H3068the LORDH6635of hostsH6884, Behold, I will melt[H8802] H974them, and try[H8804] H6213them; for how shall I do[H8799] H6440forH1323the daughterH5971of my people?

¹² H2450Who is the wiseH376manH995, that may understand[H8799] H6310this? and who is he to whom the mouthH3068of the LORDH1696hath spoken[H8765] H5046, that he may declare[H8686] H776it, for what the landH6perisheth[H8804] H3341and is burned up[H8738] H4057like a wildernessH5674, that none passeth through[H8802] ?

¹³ H3068And the LORDH559saith[H8799] H5800, Because they have forsaken[H8800] H8451my lawH5414which I set[H8804] H6440beforeH8085them, and have not obeyed[H8804] H6963my voiceH1980, neither walked[H8804]  therein;

¹⁴ H3212But have walked[H8799] H310afterH8307the imaginationH3820of their own heartH310, and afterH1168BaalimH1, which their fathersH3925taught[H8765]  them:

¹⁵ H559Therefore thus saith[H8804] H3068the LORDH6635of hostsH430, the GodH3478of IsraelH398; Behold, I will feed[H8688] H5971them, even this peopleH3939, with wormwoodH4325, and give them waterH7219of gallH8248to drink[H8689] .

¹⁶ H6327I will scatter[H8689] H1471them also among the heathenH1, whom neither they nor their fathersH3045have known[H8804] H7971: and I will send[H8765] H2719a swordH310afterH3615them, till I have consumed[H8763]  them.

¹⁷ H559Thus saith[H8804] H3068the LORDH6635of hostsH995, Consider[H8708] H7121ye, and call[H8798] H6969for the mourning women[H8789] H935, that they may come[H8799] H7971; and send[H8798] H2450for cunningH935women, that they may come[H8799] :

¹⁸ H4116And let them make haste[H8762] H5375, and take up[H8799] H5092a wailingH5869for us, that our eyesH3381may run down[H8799] H1832with tearsH6079, and our eyelidsH5140gush out[H8799] H4325with waters.

²⁴ H1984But let him that glorieth[H8693] H1984glory[H8691] H7919in this, that he understandeth[H8687] H3045and knoweth[H8800] H3068me, that I am the LORDH6213which exercise[H8802] H2617lovingkindnessH4941, judgmentH6666, and righteousnessH776, in the earthH2654: for in these things I delight[H8804] H5002, saith[H8803] H3068the LORD.
