Genesis 32 - King James Bible with Strong Numbers

H3290And JacobH1980went[H8804] H1870on his wayH4397, and the angelsH430of GodH6293met[H8799]  him.

H3290And when JacobH7200saw them[H8804] H559, he said[H8799] H430, This is God'sH4264hostH7121: and he called[H8799] H8034the nameH4725of that placeH4266Mahanaim.

H3290And JacobH7971sent[H8799] H4397messengersH6440before himH6215to EsauH251his brotherH776unto the landH8165of SeirH7704, the countryH123of Edom.

H6680And he commanded[H8762] H559them, saying[H8800] H559, Thus shall ye speak[H8799] H113unto my lordH6215EsauH5650; Thy servantH3290JacobH559saith[H8804] H1481thus, I have sojourned[H8804] H3837with LabanH309, and stayed there[H8799]  until now:

H7794And I have oxenH2543, and assesH6629, flocksH5650, and menservantsH8198, and womenservantsH7971: and I have sent[H8799] H5046to tell[H8687] H113my lordH4672, that I may find[H8800] H2580graceH5869in thy sight.

H4397And the messengersH7725returned[H8799] H3290to JacobH559, saying[H8800] H935, We came[H8804] H251to thy brotherH6215EsauH1980, and also he cometh[H8802] H7125to meet thee[H8800] H3967, and four hundredH376men with him.

H3290Then JacobH3966was greatlyH3372afraid[H8799] H3334and distressed[H8799] H2673: and he divided[H8799] H5971the peopleH6629that was with him, and the flocksH1241, and herdsH1581, and the camelsH8147, into twoH4264bands;

H559And said[H8799] H6215, If EsauH935come[H8799] H259to the oneH4264companyH5221, and smite it[H8689] H4264, then the other companyH7604which is left[H8737] H6413shall escape.

H3290And JacobH559said[H8799] H430, O GodH1of my fatherH85AbrahamH430, and GodH1of my fatherH3327IsaacH3068, the LORDH559which saidst[H8802] H7725unto me, Return[H8798] H776unto thy countryH4138, and to thy kindredH3190, and I will deal well[H8686]  with thee:

H6994I am not worthy of the least[H8804] H2617of all the merciesH571, and of all the truthH6213, which thou hast shewed[H8804] H5650unto thy servantH4731; for with my staffH5674I passed over[H8804] H3383this JordanH8147; and now I am become twoH4264bands.

H5337Deliver me[H8685] H3027, I pray thee, from the handH251of my brotherH3027, from the handH6215of EsauH3373: for I fearH935him, lest he will come[H8799] H5221and smite me[H8689] H517, and the motherH5921withH1121the children.

H559And thou saidst[H8804] H3190, I will surely[H8687] H3190do thee good[H8686] H7760, and make[H8804] H2233thy seedH2344as the sandH3220of the seaH5608, which cannot be numbered[H8735] H7230for multitude.

H3885And he lodged[H8799] H3915there that same nightH3947; and took[H8799] H935of that which came[H8802] H3027to his handH4503a presentH6215for EsauH251his brother;

H3967Two hundredH5795she goatsH6242, and twentyH8495he goatsH3967, two hundredH7353ewesH6242, and twentyH352rams,

H7970ThirtyH3243milch[H8688] H1581camelsH1121with their coltsH705, fortyH6510kineH6235, and tenH6499bullsH6242, twentyH860she assesH6235, and tenH5895foals.

H5414And he delivered[H8799] H3027them into the handH5650of his servantsH5739, every droveH559by themselves; and said[H8799] H5650unto his servantsH5674, Pass over[H8798] H6440before meH7760, and put[H8799] H7305a spaceH996betwixtH5739droveH996andH5739drove.

H6680And he commanded[H8762] H7223the foremostH559, saying[H8800] H6215, When EsauH251my brotherH6298meeteth thee[H8799] H7592, and asketh thee[H8804] H559, saying[H8800] H3212, Whose art thou? and whither goest[H8799] H6440thou? and whose are these before thee?

H559Then thou shalt say[H8804] H5650, They be thy servantH3290Jacob'sH4503; it is a presentH7971sent[H8803] H113unto my lordH6215EsauH310: and, behold, also he is behind us.

H1571And soH6680commanded he[H8762] H8145the secondH7992, and the thirdH1980, and all that followed[H8802] H310 H5739the drovesH559, saying[H8800] H1697, On this mannerH1696shall ye speak[H8762] H6215unto EsauH4672, when ye find[H8800]  him.

H559And say ye[H8804] H1571moreoverH5650, Behold, thy servantH3290JacobH310is behind usH559. For he said[H8804] H3722, I will appease[H8762] H6440himH4503with the presentH1980that goeth[H8802] H6440before meH310, and afterwardH7200I will see[H8799] H6440his faceH5375; peradventure he will accept[H8799] H6440of me.

H5674So wentH4503the presentH5674over[H8799] H6440before himH3885: and himself lodged[H8804] H3915that nightH4264in the company.

H6965And he rose up[H8799] H3915that nightH3947, and took[H8799] H8147his twoH802wivesH8147, and his twoH8198womenservantsH6240, and his elevenH259 H3206sonsH5674, and passed over[H8799] H4569the fordH2999Jabbok.

H3947And he took them[H8799] H5674, and sent them over[H8686] H5158the brookH5674, and sent over[H8686]  that he had.

H3290And JacobH3498was left[H8735] H79alone; and there wrestled[H8735] H376a manH5927with him until the breaking[H8800] H7837of the day.

H7200And when he saw[H8799] H3201that he prevailed[H8804] H5060not against him, he touched[H8799] H3409the hollow of his thighH3709; and the hollowH3290of Jacob'sH3409thighH3363was out of joint[H8799] H79, as he wrestled[H8736]  with him.

H559And he said[H8799] H7971, Let me go[H8761] H7837, for the dayH5927breaketh[H8804] H559. And he said[H8799] H7971, I will not let thee go[H8762] H518, exceptH1288thou bless[H8765]  me.

H559And he said[H8799] H8034unto him, What is thy nameH559? And he said[H8799] H3290, Jacob.

H559And he said[H8799] H8034, Thy nameH559shall be called[H8735] H3290no more JacobH3478, but IsraelH8280: for as a prince hast thou power[H8804] H430with GodH582and with menH3201, and hast prevailed[H8799] .

H3290And JacobH7592asked[H8799] H559him, and said[H8799] H5046, Tell[H8685] H8034me, I pray thee, thy nameH559. And he said[H8799] H2088, Wherefore is itH7592that thou dost ask[H8799] H8034after my nameH1288? And he blessed[H8762]  him there.

H3290And JacobH7121called[H8799] H8034the nameH4725of the placeH6439PenielH7200: for I have seen[H8804] H430GodH6440faceH6440to faceH5315, and my lifeH5337is preserved[H8735] .

H5674And as he passed over[H8804] H6439PenuelH8121the sunH2224rose[H8799] H6760upon him, and he halted[H8802] H3409upon his thigh.

H1121Therefore the childrenH3478of IsraelH398eat[H8799] H1517not of the sinewH5384which shrankH3709, which is upon the hollowH3409of the thighH3117, unto this dayH5060: because he touched[H8804] H3709the hollowH3290of Jacob'sH3409thighH1517in the sinewH5384that shrank.
