Samuel 26 - King James Bible with Strong Numbers

H2130And the ZiphitesH935came[H8799] H7586unto SaulH1390to GibeahH559, saying[H8800] H1732, Doth not DavidH5641hide[H8693] H1389himself in the hillH2444of HachilahH6440, which is beforeH3452Jeshimon?

H7586Then SaulH6965arose[H8799] H3381, and went down[H8799] H4057to the wildernessH2128of ZiphH7969, having threeH505thousandH977chosen[H8803] H376menH3478of IsraelH1245with him, to seek[H8763] H1732DavidH4057in the wildernessH2128of Ziph.

H7586And SaulH2583pitched[H8799] H1389in the hillH2444of HachilahH6440, which is beforeH3452JeshimonH1870, by the wayH1732. But DavidH3427abode[H8802] H4057in the wildernessH7200, and he saw[H8799] H7586that SaulH935came[H8804] H310afterH4057him into the wilderness.

H1732DavidH7971therefore sent out[H8799] H7270spies[H8764] H3045, and understood[H8799] H7586that SaulH935was come[H8804] H3559in very deed[H8737] .

H1732And DavidH6965arose[H8799] H935, and came[H8799] H4725to the placeH7586where SaulH2583had pitched[H8804] H1732: and DavidH7200beheld[H8799] H4725the placeH7586where SaulH7901lay[H8804] H74, and AbnerH1121the sonH5369of NerH8269, the captainH6635of his hostH7586: and SaulH7901lay[H8802] H4570in the trenchH5971, and the peopleH2583pitched[H8802] H5439round about him.

H6030Then answered[H8799] H1732DavidH559and said[H8799] H288to AhimelechH2850the HittiteH52, and to AbishaiH1121the sonH6870of ZeruiahH251, brotherH3097to JoabH559, saying[H8800] H3381, Who will go down[H8799] H7586with me to SaulH4264to the campH52? And AbishaiH559said[H8799] H3381, I will go down[H8799]  with thee.

H1732So DavidH52and AbishaiH935came[H8799] H5971to the peopleH3915by nightH7586: and, behold, SaulH7901lay[H8802] H3463sleepingH4570within the trenchH2595, and his spearH4600stuck[H8803] H776in the groundH4763at his bolsterH74: but AbnerH5971and the peopleH7901lay[H8802] H5439round about him.

H559Then said[H8799] H52AbishaiH1732to DavidH430, GodH5462hath delivered[H8765] H341thine enemy[H8802] H3027into thine handH3117this dayH5221: now therefore let me smite[H8686] H2595him, I pray thee, with the spearH776even to the earthH6471at onceH259 H8138, and I will not smite him the second time[H8799] .

H1732And DavidH559said[H8799] H52to AbishaiH7843, Destroy[H8686] H7971him not: for who can stretch forth[H8804] H3027his handH3068against the LORD'SH4899anointedH5352, and be guiltless[H8738] ?

H1732DavidH559said[H8799] H3068furthermore, As the LORDH2416livethH3068, the LORDH5062shall smite[H8799] H3117him; or his dayH935shall come[H8799] H4191to die[H8804] H3381; or he shall descend[H8799] H4421into battleH5595, and perish[H8738] .

H3068The LORDH2486forbidH7971that I should stretch forth[H8800] H3027mine handH3068against the LORD'SH4899anointedH3947: but, I pray thee, take[H8798] H2595thou now the spearH4763that is at his bolsterH6835, and the cruseH4325of waterH3212, and let us go[H8799] .

H1732So DavidH3947took[H8799] H2595the spearH6835and the cruseH4325of waterH7586from Saul'sH7226bolsterH3212; and they gat them away[H8799] H7200, and no man saw[H8802] H3045it, nor knew[H8802] H6974it, neither awaked[H8688] H3463: for they were all asleepH8639; because a deep sleepH3068from the LORDH5307was fallen[H8804]  upon them.

H1732Then DavidH5674went over[H8799] H5676to the other sideH5975, and stood[H8799] H7218on the topH2022of an hillH7350afar offH7227; a greatH4725space being between them:

H1732And DavidH7121cried[H8799] H5971to the peopleH74, and to AbnerH1121the sonH5369of NerH559, saying[H8800] H6030, Answerest[H8799] H74thou not, AbnerH74? Then AbnerH6030answered[H8799] H559and said[H8799] H7121, Who art thou that criest[H8804] H4428to the king?

H1732And DavidH559said[H8799] H74to AbnerH376, Art not thou a valiant manH3478? and who is like to thee in IsraelH8104? wherefore then hast thou not kept[H8804] H113thy lordH4428the kingH935? for there came[H8804] H259oneH5971of the peopleH7843in to destroy[H8687] H4428the kingH113thy lord.

H1697This thingH2896is not goodH6213that thou hast done[H8804] H3068. As the LORDH2416livethH1121, ye are worthyH4194to dieH8104, because ye have not kept[H8804] H113your masterH3068, the LORD'SH4899anointedH7200. And now see[H8798] H4428where the king'sH2595spearH6835is, and the cruseH4325of waterH4763that was at his bolster.

H7586And SaulH5234knew[H8686] H1732David'sH6963voiceH559, and said[H8799] H6963, Is this thy voiceH1121, my sonH1732DavidH1732? And DavidH559said[H8799] H6963, It is my voiceH113, my lordH4428, O king.

H559And he said[H8799] H113, Wherefore doth my lordH7291thus pursue[H8802] H310afterH5650his servantH6213? for what have I done[H8804] H7451? or what evilH3027is in mine hand?

H113Now therefore, I pray thee, let my lordH4428the kingH8085hear[H8799] H1697the wordsH5650of his servantH3068. If the LORDH5496have stirred thee up[H8689] H7306against me, let him accept[H8686] H4503an offeringH1121: but if they be the childrenH120of menH779, cursed[H8803] H6440be they beforeH3068the LORDH1644; for they have driven[H8765] H3117me out this dayH5596from abiding[H8692] H5159in the inheritanceH3068of the LORDH559, saying[H8800] H3212, Go[H8798] H5647, serve[H8798] H312otherH430gods.

H1818Now therefore, let not my bloodH5307fall[H8799] H776to the earthH6440before the faceH3068of the LORDH4428: for the kingH3478of IsraelH3318is come out[H8804] H1245to seek[H8763] H259aH6550fleaH7291, as when one doth hunt[H8799] H7124a partridgeH2022in the mountains.

H559Then said[H8799] H7586SaulH2398, I have sinned[H8804] H7725: return[H8798] H1121, my sonH1732DavidH7489: for I will no more do thee harm[H8686] H5315, because my soulH3365was precious[H8804] H5869in thine eyesH3117this dayH5528: behold, I have played the fool[H8689] H7686, and have erred[H8799] H7235exceedingly[H8687] H3966 .

H1732And DavidH6030answered[H8799] H559and said[H8799] H4428, Behold the king'sH2595spearH259! and let oneH5288of the young menH5674come over[H8799] H3947and fetch[H8799]  it.

H3068The LORDH7725render[H8686] H376to every manH6666his righteousnessH530and his faithfulnessH3068: for the LORDH5414delivered[H8804] H3027thee into my handH3117to dayH14, but I would[H8804] H7971not stretch forth[H8800] H3027mine handH3068against the LORD'SH4899anointed.

H5315And, behold, as thy lifeH1431was much set by[H8804] H3117this dayH5869in mine eyesH5315, so let my lifeH1431be much set by[H8799] H5869in the eyesH3068of the LORDH5337, and let him deliver[H8686] H6869me out of all tribulation.

H7586Then SaulH559said[H8799] H1732to DavidH1288, Blessed[H8803] H1121be thou, my sonH1732DavidH6213: thou shalt both do[H8799] H6213great[H8800] H3201things, and also shalt still[H8800] H3201prevail[H8799] H1732. So DavidH3212went[H8799] H1870on his wayH7586, and SaulH7725returned[H8804] H4725to his place.
