The two men, the base fellows, came in and sat before him: and the base fellows bore witness against him, even against Navot, in the presence of the people, saying, Navot did curse God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him to death with stones.


No, in your heart you plot injustice. You measure out the violence of your hands in the earth.


neither shall you favor a poor man in his cause.


*You shall not deny justice to your poor people in their lawsuits.


who cause a person to be indicted by a word, and lay a snare for the arbiter in the gate, and who deprive the innocent of justice with false testimony.


Woe to the wicked! Disaster is upon them; for the deeds of his hands will be paid back to him.


The LORD will enter into judgment with the elders of his people, and their leaders: *It is you who have eaten up the vineyard. The spoil of the poor is in your houses.


Woe to those who rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; who stay late into the night, until wine inflames them!


Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of falsehood, and wickedness as with cart rope;


who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice for the innocent!


Woe to those who join house to house, who lay field to field, until there is no room, and you are made to dwell alone in the midst of the land!


transgressing and denying the LORD, and turning away from following our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.


None sues in righteousness, and none pleads in truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.


Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by injustice; who uses his neighbor's service without wages, and doesn't give him his hire;


They trample on the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and deny justice to the oppressed; and a man and his father use the same maiden, to profane my holy name;

Woe to him who builds a town with blood, and establishes a city by iniquity!
