Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them. They won't be disappointed when they speak with their enemies in the gate.


To show partiality is not good; yet a man will do wrong for a piece of bread.


Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, and to the writers who write oppressive decrees;


The ways of the scoundrel are evil. He devises wicked devices to destroy the humble with lying words, even when the needy speaks right.


Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!


who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice for the innocent!


Yes, truth is lacking; and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. The LORD saw it, and it displeased him who there was no justice.


Then said they, Come, and let us devise devices against Yirmeyahu; for the law shall not perish from the Kohen, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us strike him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.


Concerning Yehoiakim king of Yehudah you shall say, Thus says the LORD: You have burned this scroll, saying, Why have you written therein, saying, The king of Bavel shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from there man and animal?
