So I will continue to amaze these people by doing powerful and amazing things. Their wise men will lose their wisdom. Their wise men will not be able to understand.”

Make your plans for the fight!\par Your plans will be defeated.\par Give orders to your armies!\par Your orders will be useless.\par Why? Because God is with us! {\cf2\super [101]} \par

Those people might ask you, ‘Where will we go?’ You tell them this: This is what the Lord says:

The enemy will attack with swords\par and kill the people.\par They will kill the survivors {\cf2\super [129]} from Judah.\par A woman might have seven sons,\par \{but they will all die.\}\par She will cry and cry\par until she becomes weak\par and not able to breathe.\par She will be upset and confused.\par Her bright day will become dark from sadness.”\par

“Those people will die a terrible death. No person will cry for those people. No person will bury them. Their bodies will lie on the ground like dung. Those people will die by an enemy’s sword, or they will starve to death. Their dead bodies will be food for the birds of the sky and the wild animals of the earth.”

So make their children starve in a famine. {\cf2\super [154]} \par Let their enemies defeat them with swords.\par Let their wives be without children.\par Let the men from Judah be put to death.\par Make their wives into widows.\par Let the men from Judah be put to death.\par Let the young men be killed in battle.\par

After that happens,’” this message is from the Lord, “‘I will give Zedekiah king of Judah to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. I will also give Zedekiah’s officials to Nebuchadnezzar. Some of the people in Jerusalem will not die from the terrible sicknesses. Some of the people will not be killed with swords. Some of them will not die from hunger. But I will give those people to Nebuchadnezzar. I will let Judah’s enemy win. Nebuchadnezzar’s army wants to kill the people of Judah. So the people of Judah and Jerusalem will be killed with swords. Nebuchadnezzar will not show any mercy. He will not feel sorry for those people.’

The people of Jerusalem will bury Jehoiakim\par like they were burying a donkey.\par They will just drag his body away\par and throw it outside the gates of Jerusalem.\par

Jehoiachin, I will give you to Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, and the Babylonians. Those are the people you are afraid of. Those people want to kill you.

The Lord also said, “I will soon give the city of Jerusalem to the Babylonian army and to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. That army will capture the city.

So I will give those people to their enemies and to every person that wants to kill them. The bodies of those people will become food for the birds of the air and for the wild animals of the earth.

I will let all those people be defeated by their enemies—and those enemies want to kill them. I will give those people to Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, and his servants.”

Those men will spread those bones on the ground under the sun, the moon, and the stars. The people of Jerusalem love to worship the sun, the moon, and the stars. No person will gather those bones and bury them again. So, the bones of those people will be like dung thrown on the ground.

“You keep saying,\par ‘We have the Lord’s teachings!\par So we are wise!’\par But that is not true.\par Why? Because the scribes {\cf2\super [69]} \par have lied with their pens.\par

Those ‘wise people’ refused to listen\par to the Lord’s teachings.\par So they are not really wise people at all.\par Those ‘wise people’ were trapped.\par They became shocked and ashamed.\par

You will have broken my Agreement, so I will punish you. I will bring armies against you. You will go into your cities for safety. But I will cause diseases to spread among you. And your enemies will defeat you.

So do we destroy the law by following the way of faith? No! Faith causes us to be what the law truly wants.

If people could get the things that God promised by following the law, then faith is worthless. And God’s promise to Abraham is worthless.

Today the Lord will let me defeat you! I will kill you. Today I will cut off your head and feed your body to the birds and wild animals. We will do that to all the other Philistines too! Then all the world will know there is a God in Israel!
