He has turnedasidemy waysand tornme to pieces;He has mademe desolate.
"But nowHe has exhaustedme; You have laidwasteallmy company.
Therefore my spiritis overwhelmedwithinme; My heartis appalledwithinme.
"Nowconsiderthis,you who forgetGod,OrI will tear[you] in pieces, and therewill be noneto deliver.
And her gateswill lamentand mourn,And desertedshe will siton the ground.
"I will appointoverthem fourkinds[of doom]," declaresthe LORD:"the swordto slay,the dogsto dragoff, and the birdsof the skyand the beastsof the earthto devourand destroy.
"I will also makethiscitya desolationand an [object of] hissing;everyonewho passesby it will be astonishedand hissbecauseof allits disasters.
Fieldswill be boughtin thislandof whichyou say,"It is a desolation,withoutmanor beast;it is giveninto the handof the Chaldeans."
Thereforea lionfrom the forestwill slaythem, A wolfof the desertswill destroythem, A leopardis watchingtheir cities.Everyonewho goesout of them will be tornin pieces,Becausetheir transgressionsare many,Their apostasiesare numerous.
"Be warned,O Jerusalem,OrI shall be alienatedfrom you, And makeyou a desolation,A landnot inhabited."

He is to me like a bearlyingin wait,[Like] a lionin secretplaces.
"Thushe said:'The fourthbeastwill be a fourthkingdomon the earth,whichwill be differentfrom allthe [other] kingdomsand will devourthe wholeearthand treadit downand crushit.
"Come,let us returnto the LORD.For He has torn[us], but He will healus; He has wounded[us], but He will bandageus.
The remnantof JacobWill be among the nations,AmongmanypeoplesLike a lionamong the beastsof the forest,Like a younglionamong flocksof sheep,Which,ifhe passesthrough,Tramplesdownand tears,And thereis noneto rescue.
"Behold,your houseis being leftto you desolate!
"And they threwduston their headsand were cryingout, weepingand mourning,saying,Woe,woe,the greatcity,in whichallwho hadshipsat seabecame richby her wealth,for in onehourshe has been laid waste!'
