[Put] the trumpetto your lips!Like an eagle[the enemy comes] againstthe houseof the LORD,Becausethey have transgressedMy covenantAnd rebelledagainstMy law.
They will be terrified,Painsand anguishwill takeholdof [them]; They will writhelike a woman in labor,They will lookat oneanotherin astonishment,Their facesaflame.
"Damascushas becomehelpless;She has turnedaway to flee,And panichas grippedher; Distressand pangshave takenholdof her Like a woman in childbirth.
Asknow,and seeIfa malecan givebirth.Whydo I seeeveryman[With] his handson his loins,as a woman in childbirth?And [why] have allfacesturnedpale?
We have heardthe reportof it; Our handsare limp.Anguishhas seizedus, Painas of a woman in childbirth.

As the pregnantwomanapproaches[the time] to givebirth,She writhes[and] criesout in her laborpains,Thuswere we beforeYou, O LORD.
For thisreasonmy loinsare fullof anguish;Painshave seizedme like the painsof a woman in labor.I am sobewilderedI cannothear,soterrifiedI cannotsee.
The cordsof Sheolsurroundedme; The snaresof deathconfrontedme.
The wayof an eaglein the sky,The wayof a serpenton a rock,The wayof a shipin the middleof the sea,And the wayof a manwith a maid.
They will swoopdownon the slopesof the Philistineson the west;Togetherthey will plunderthe sonsof the east;They will possessEdomand Moab,And the sonsof Ammonwill be subjectto them.
"A swordagainstthe oraclepriests,and they will becomefools!A swordagainsther mightymen,and they will be shattered!
"Then your mightymenwill be dismayed,O Teman,So that everyonemay be cutofffrom the mountainof Esauby slaughter.
