"Judahis a lion'swhelp;From the prey,my son,you have goneup. He couches,he liesdownas a lion,And as a lion,whodares rousehim up?
"Nowconsiderthis,you who forgetGod,OrI will tear[you] in pieces, and therewill be noneto deliver.
I sendit against a godlessnationAnd commissionit againstthe peopleof My furyTo capturebootyand to seizeplunder,And to tramplethem downlike mudin the streets.
For thussaysthe LORDto me, "As the lionor the youngliongrowlsoverhis prey,Againstwhicha bandof shepherdsis calledout, [And] he will not be terrifiedat their voicenordisturbedat their noise,Sowill the LORDof hostscomedownto wagewaron MountZionand on its hill."
Nolionwill be there,Norwill any viciousbeastgoup on it; These will not be foundthere.But the redeemedwill walk[there],
But thisis a peopleplunderedand despoiled;Allof them are trappedin caves,Or are hiddenaway in prisons;They have becomea preywith noneto deliver[them], And a spoil,with noneto say,"Give[them] back!"
"Sohave those becometo you with whomyou have labored,Who have traffickedwith you from your youth;Eachhas wanderedin his own way;Thereis noneto saveyou.
"The younglionshave roaredat him, They have roaredloudly.And they have madehis landa waste;His citieshave been destroyed,withoutinhabitant.
"A lionhas goneup from his thicket,And a destroyerof nationshas setout; He has goneout from his placeTo makeyour landa waste.Your citieswill be ruinsWithoutinhabitant.
"Behold,one will comeup like a lionfrom the thicketsof the Jordanagainsta perenniallywatered pasture;for in an instantI will make him runaway from it, and whoeveris chosenI shall appointoverit. For whois likeMe, and whowill summonMe [into court]? And whothenis the shepherdwhocan standagainstMe?"
"Israelis a scatteredflock,the lionshave driven[them] away.The firstone[who] devouredhim was the kingof Assyria,and thislastone[who] has brokenhis bonesis Nebuchadnezzarkingof Babylon.

A lionhas roared!Whowill not fear?The LordGODhas spoken!Whocan but prophesy?
The remnantof JacobWill be among the nations,AmongmanypeoplesLike a lionamong the beastsof the forest,Like a younglionamong flocksof sheep,Which,ifhe passesthrough,Tramplesdownand tears,And thereis noneto rescue.
Whereis the denof the lionsAnd the feedingplaceof the younglions,Wherethe lion,lionessand lion'scubprowled,With nothingto disturb[them]?
Her princeswithinher are roaringlions,Her judgesare wolvesat evening;They leavenothingfor the morning.
There is a soundof the shepherds'wail,For their gloryis ruined;There is a soundof the younglions'roar,For the prideof the Jordanis ruined.
