let us draw nearwith a sincereheartin full assuranceof faith,having our heartssprinkled[clean] from an evilconscienceand our bodieswashedwith purewater.
"Then I will sprinklecleanwateron you, and you will be clean;I will cleanseyou from allyour filthinessand from allyour idols.
Jesusanswered,"Truly,truly,I sayto you, unlessoneis bornof waterand the Spirithe cannotenterinto the kingdomof God.
Correspondingto that, baptismnowsavesyou-- not the removalof dirtfrom the flesh,but an appealto Godfor a goodconscience--throughthe resurrectionof JesusChrist,
sothat He might sanctifyher, having cleansedher by the washingof waterwith the word,
Suchwere someof you; but you were washed,but you were sanctified,but you were justifiedin the nameof the LordJesusChristand in the Spiritof our God.
(for the Lawmadenothingperfect),and on the other handthere is a bringingin of a betterhope,throughwhichwe draw nearto God.
Therefore,havingthesepromises,beloved,let us cleanseourselvesfrom alldefilementof fleshand spirit,perfectingholinessin the fearof God.
Thereforelet us draw nearwith confidenceto the throneof grace,sothat we may receivemercyand findgraceto helpin time of need.
and to Jesus,the mediatorof a newcovenant,and to the sprinkledblood,which speaksbetterthan[the blood] of Abel.
He savedus, not on the basisof deedswhichwe have donein righteousness,but accordingto His mercy,by the washingof regenerationand renewingby the HolySpirit,
But as for me, the nearnessof Godis my good;I have madethe LordGODmy refuge,That I may tellof allYour works.
accordingto the foreknowledgeof Godthe Father,by the sanctifying workof the Spirit,to obeyJesusChristand be sprinkledwith His blood:May graceand peacebe yoursin the fullest measure.
in whomwe haveboldnessand confidentaccessthroughfaithin Him.
Drawnearto Godand He will draw nearto you. Cleanseyour hands,you sinners;and purifyyour hearts,you double-minded.
For when everycommandmenthad been spokenby Mosesto allthe peopleaccordingto the Law,he tookthe bloodof the calvesand the goats,with waterand scarletwooland hyssop,and sprinkledboththe bookitselfand allthe people,
"As for me, I baptizeyou with waterfor repentance,but He who is comingafterme is mightierthan I, and I amnot fitto removeHis sandals;He will baptizeyou with the HolySpiritand fire.
"Then I bathedyou with water,washedoffyour bloodfrom you and anointedyou with oil.
I will givethem a heartto knowMe, for I am the LORD;and they will be My people,and I will be their God,for they will returnto Me with their wholeheart.
Then Moseshad Aaronand his sonscomenearand washedthem with water.
But he must askin faithwithout anydoubting,for the one who doubtsis likethe surfof the sea,drivenand tossed by the wind.
Giveme your heart,my son,And let your eyesdelightin my ways.
I shall givethanksto You with uprightnessof heart,When I learnYour righteousjudgments.
Createin me a cleanheart,O God,And renewa steadfastspiritwithinme.
"Thusyou shall doto them, for their cleansing:[sprinkle] purifyingwateron them, and let them usea razorovertheir wholebodyand washtheir clothes,and they will be clean.
"He shall then sprinkleseventimesthe one who is to be cleansedfrom the leprosyand shall pronouncehim clean,and shall let the livebirdgofreeoverthe openfield.
By faithhe keptthe Passoverand the sprinklingof the blood,sothat he who destroyedthe firstbornwould not touchthem.
Therefore,brethren,since we haveconfidenceto enterthe holy placeby the bloodof Jesus,
"In that daya fountainwill be openedfor the houseof Davidand for the inhabitantsof Jerusalem,for sinand for impurity.
Then the Lordsaid,"Becausethispeopledrawnearwith their wordsAnd honorMe with their lipservice,But they removetheir heartsfarfrom Me, And their reverencefor Me consistsof traditionlearned[by rote],
"As for you, my sonSolomon,knowthe Godof your father,and serveHim with a wholeheartand a willingmind;for the LORDsearchesallhearts,and understandseveryintentof the thoughts.Ifyou seekHim, He will let you findHim; but ifyou forsakeHim, He will rejectyou forever.
"Then you shall bringAaronand his sonsto the doorwayof the tentof meetingand washthem with water.
since they [relate] onlyto foodand drinkand variouswashings,regulationsfor the bodyimposeduntila timeof reformation.
by meansof the hypocrisyof liarssearedin their ownconscienceas with a branding iron,
Their leadershall be one of them, And their rulershall comeforthfrom their midst;And I will bringhim nearand he shall approachMe; For whowould dareto riskhis lifeto approachMe?' declaresthe LORD.
"Yetin spite of allthisher treacheroussisterJudahdid not returnto Me with allher heart,but ratherin deception,"declaresthe LORD.
ThusHe will sprinklemanynations,Kingswill shuttheir mouthson accountof Him; For whathad not been toldthem they will see,And whatthey had not heardthey will understand.
I criedwith allmy heart;answerme, O LORD!I will observeYour statutes.
and from JesusChrist,the faithfulwitness,the firstbornof the dead,and the rulerof the kingsof the earth.To Him who lovesus and releasedus from our sinsby His blood--
Slaves,be obedientto thosewho are your mastersaccordingto the flesh,with fearand trembling,in the sincerityof your heart,as to Christ;
"You have nopartorportionin thismatter,for your heartis not rightbeforeGod.
When they heardit, they [began] to goout oneby one,beginningwith the older ones,and He was leftalone,and the woman,where she was, in the center[of the court].
May my heartbe blamelessin Your statutes,So that I will not be ashamed.Kaph.
The arroganthave forgeda lieagainstme; With all[my] heartI will observeYour precepts.
I soughtYour favorwith all[my] heart;Be graciousto me according to Your word.
Giveme understanding,that I may observeYour lawAnd keepit with all[my] heart.
With allmy heartI have soughtYou; Do not let me wanderfrom Your commandments.
How blessedare those who observeHis testimonies,Who seekHim with all[their] heart.
Praisethe LORD!I will givethanksto the LORDwith all[my] heart,In the companyof the uprightand in the assembly.
For judgmentwill againbe righteous,And allthe uprightin heartwill followit.
For the LORDGodis a sunand shield;The LORDgivesgraceand glory;Nogoodthingdoes He withholdfrom those who walkuprightly.
Be gladin the LORDand rejoice,you righteousones;And shoutfor joy,allyou who are uprightin heart.
I will givethanksto the LORDwith allmy heart;I will tellof allYour wonders.
"Since I know,O my God,that You trythe heartand delightin uprightness,I, in the integrityof my heart,have willinglyofferedallthese[things]; so nowwith joyI have seenYour people,who are presenthere,make[their] offeringswillinglyto You.
Of Zebulun,there were 50,000who wentout in the army,who could drawup in battleformationwith allkinds of weaponsof warand helped[David] with an undividedheart.
He walkedin allthe sinsof his fatherwhichhe had committedbeforehim; and his heartwas not whollydevotedto the LORDhis God,like the heartof his fatherDavid.
"He shall puton the holylinentunic,and the linenundergarmentsshall be nextto his body,and he shall be girdedwith the linensashand attiredwith the linenturban(theseare holygarments).Then he shall bathehis bodyin waterand putthem on.
Inasmuchas manyhave undertakento compilean accountof the thingsaccomplishedamongus,
Nowwhydo you delay?Getup and be baptized,and wash awayyour sins,callingon His name.'
And we desirethat each oneof you showthe samediligencesoas to realize the full assuranceof hopeuntilthe end,
For the Law,since it has[only] a shadowof the good thingsto come[and] not the veryformof things,cannever,by the samesacrificeswhichthey offercontinuallyyear by year,make perfectthosewho draw near.
