"Then I will turnyour festivalsinto mourningAnd allyour songsinto lamentation;And I will bringsackclothon everyone'sloinsAnd baldnesson everyhead.And I will makeit like [a time of] mourningfor an onlyson,And the endof it will be like a bitterday.
Then she wentand satdownoppositehim, about a bowshotaway,for she said,"Do not let me seethe boydie."And she satoppositehim, and liftedup her voiceand wept.
"When he fillshis belly,[God] will sendHis fierceangeron him And will rain[it] on him while he is eating.
"Let darknessand blackgloomclaimit; Let a cloudsettleon it; Let the blacknessof the dayterrifyit.
"Therefore my harpis turnedto mourning,And my fluteto the soundof those who weep.
Now it will comeabout that insteadof sweetperfumethere will be putrefaction;Insteadof a belt,a rope;Insteadof well-sethair,a plucked-outscalp;Insteadof fineclothes,a donningof sackcloth;And brandinginsteadof beauty.
"Your own wickednesswill correctyou, And your apostasieswill reproveyou; Knowtherefore and seethat it is eviland bitterFor you to forsakethe LORDyour God,And the dreadof Me is not in you," declaresthe LordGODof hosts.
"For everyheadis baldand everybeardcutshort;there are gasheson allthe handsand sackclothon the loins.
O daughterof my people,puton sackclothAnd rollin ashes;Mournas for an onlyson,A lamentationmostbitter.For suddenlythe destroyerWill comeupon us.
The joyof our heartshas ceased;Our dancinghas been turnedinto mourning.
They will girdthemselves with sackclothand shudderingwill overwhelmthem; and shame[will be] on allfacesand baldnesson alltheir heads.
"And you, sonof man,thussaysthe LordGODto the landof Israel,An end!The endis comingon the fourcornersof the land.
"I will also putan endto allher gaiety,Her feasts,her newmoons,her sabbathsAnd allher festalassemblies.
"I will punishher for the daysof the BaalsWhenshe used to offersacrificesto them And adornherself with her earringsand jewelry,And followher lovers,so that she forgotMe," declaresthe LORD.
Waillike a virgingirdedwith sackclothFor the bridegroomof her youth.
"Now ifa manlosesthe hairof his head,he is bald;he is clean.
"I hate,I rejectyour festivals,Nordo I delightin your solemnassemblies.
"Takeawayfrom Me the noiseof your songs;I will not even listento the soundof your harps.
"The songsof the palacewill turnto wailingin that day,"declaresthe LordGOD."Many[will be] the corpses;in everyplacethey will castthem forth in silence."
Liketangledthorns,And like those who are drunkenwith their drink,They are consumedAs stubblecompletelywithered.
"I will pourout on the houseof Davidand on the inhabitantsof Jerusalem,the Spiritof graceand of supplication,so that they will lookon Me whomthey have pierced;and they will mournfor Him, as one mournsfor an onlyson,and they will weepbitterlyoverHim like the bitterweepingovera firstborn.
and you shall rejoicein your feast,you and your sonand your daughterand your maleand femaleservantsand the Leviteand the strangerand the orphanand the widowwhoare in your towns.
